【PDCA日記 Vol. 177「酔いつぶれたサルは酒を飲まない」】
過去のPDCA日記で、人間以外の動物でも体調管理のために、植物を薬として利用していることを紹介しました。
しかしながら、副作用があると分かっていながら、麻薬を使う動物は地球上で人間だけです。
今回紹介する資料「LIFE<ライフ> 人間が知らない生き方」は、「動物たちの知られざる生態から、より人間らしい生き方を学ぼう」をキャッチフレーズにしており、以下フレーズが印象的でした。
「酒で酔いつぶれたサルは、もう二度と酒には手を出さないだろう。
つまり、人間よりよっぽど賢いのである。＜チャールズ・ダーウィン＞」（引用終わり）

P.S. 「酒には強い副作用があるが、合法である理由は多くの人が飲んでいるからだ」と話していた人がいました。
急性アルコール中毒で命を落とす人や、アルコール依存症で家庭崩壊になるケースがあっても、アルコールを禁止しようとする動きはほとんどありません。
今回紹介した資料「LIFE<ライフ> 人間が知らない生き方」が述べている通り、動物の方が人間よりも合理的である部分は多いのかもしれませんね :-)。
＜ Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「酔いつぶれた」 = 「drunk」＞
今回出てきた「酔いつぶれた」の英訳は、「drunk」となります。
「酔いつぶれたサルは酒を飲まない」を英語で表現する場合、「Drunk monkeys do not drink」とすればよいですね :-)。
In the past PDCA diary, I introduced that non-human animals use plants as medicines for physical condition management.
However, the only animal that uses drugs, despite knowing that it has side effects, is mankind on earth.
The material to be introduced today "LIFE that humans do not know (Japanese only)" has a catchphrase of "Let's learn a more humane way of life from the unknown ecology of animals" and the following phrases were impressive.
"Drunk monkey with alcohol will never drink alcohol again.
In other words, they (monkeys) are much smarter than humans. <Charles Darwin>" (Unquote)
