【PDCA日記 Vol. 209「IR施設の魅力」】
最近は日本におけるカジノについての議論が行われています。
そんな中、「パチンコは良いが、カジノはけしからん」と言っている人の理屈が、どうしても理解できない自分がいます。
今回紹介する資料「カジノとIR。日本の未来を決めるのはどっちだっ！？」は、「IRは日本の経済を救うのか？」をキャッチフレーズにしており、「マリーナベイ・サンズの優れた発想とは？」部分の以下フレーズが印象的でした。
「僕が思うに、IR施設が他にはない魅力を持つのは、他では考えられない『斬新な店』が登場することにある。
一店で見れば赤字でも、IRすべてで見れば問題ないことが、まさに『統合型』の魅力に他ならない。
例えば、日本でこれをやるのなら、老舗料亭の『吉兆』がラーメン店を出してもいいだろうし、世界一の高級鮨ともいわれる『すきやばし次郎』による回転寿司があったら面白いと思うが、それはIRだから可能なのである。」（引用終わり）
P.S. ラスベガスやマカオなど、カジノがある地域では、ホテルの宿泊料金が安くなっていることが殆どです。
ホテルにはカジノが入っており、カジノの収益によって、宿泊料金を抑えても収益を確保することが可能であるためです。
特定のホテルに宿泊したくても、高すぎて泊まれない人がいます。
カジノを解禁することで、宿泊施設の利用料金が下がる可能性が高くなり、色々な人の効用（幸せ）が高まるようになればよいように感じています。
＜ Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「施設」 = 「facility」＞
今回出てきた「施設」の英訳は、「facility」になります。
「IR施設の魅力」を英語で表現する場合、「Attractiveness of IR facilities」とすればよいですね :-)。
Recently, there have been discussions about casinos in Japan.
The material to be introduced today "Casino & IR can be the future of Japan? (Japanese only)" is based on the catchphrase "Will IR save the Japanese economy?" and the following phrases were impressive.
