私は最初の職場が外資系だったのですが、上司の多くは日系企業出身でした。
商社や生命保険会社など、日本の大企業で経験してきたシニアの方々が異口同音に話していたのは、「どこに行っても一緒」ということでした。
日系企業であっても外資系企業であっても、「どうしてこの人が？」という人が昇進したり、人事評価の意味がよく分からないのは同じだということです。
会社員の場合は働くところが変わっても、本質的にはそれほど変わらないということを、私の元上司たちは「どこに行っても一緒」と表現していたのでした。
今回紹介する資料「心に折り合いをつけて うまいことやる習慣」は、「幸せにならなくてもよい」や「金のために働いて問題はない」という最近の風潮とは違う説を唱えており、「期待しないほうがうまいことやれる」部分の以下フレーズが印象的でした。
「仕事を変えても、イヤなところは必ず出てきます。
結局、どこに行っても一緒なんやなあ。
100%満足できる環境はないんです。
だから大事なのは、『今いる場所で、どうしたら己が快適に過ごせるのか』を中心に考えることやと思います。」（引用終わり）

P.S. 本書でもう一点印象的だったのは、「他人を変えるのは無理」と言い切っていることでした。
上司や部下、同僚などは他人であり、変えるのは無理であるから、重要なのは必要に応じて自分を変えるということなのでしょうね :-)。
＜ Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「折り合い」 = 「compromise」＞
今回出てきた「折り合い」を英語にすると、「compromise」になります。
「折り合い」は「妥協」と言い換えることができますが、英語ではどちらも「compromise」になりますね :-)。

The material to be introduced today “The habit of doing good things with a good heart (Japanese only)” advocates a theory different from the recent trend, because this book reiterates that “You don't have to be happy” or “There is no problem working only for money” and the following phrases were impressive in the part “You had better not expect too much".
“Even if you change your job, there will always be unpleasant parts.
After all, wherever you go, it doesn't change.
There is no 100% satisfied environment.
Therefore, the important thing is to think about how you can spend your time comfortably in the current place." (Unquote)
