【PDCA日記 Vol. 263「可能な限り協力する」】
私はアメリカに暮らしていた時、「ギブ&テイク」というフレーズをよく耳にしました。
自分にとって有利なことを引き出す際（テイク）、相手にとって得になること（ギブ）をしなければならないということです。
ただ、CEOなどの経営者からは「ギブ&テイク」ではなく、「ギブ&ギブが重要である」と聞かされていました。
今回紹介する資料「【小さな会社】逆襲の広報PR術」は、「常識破りのメディア戦術を教えます!!」をキャッチフレーズにしており、「得にならないお願いでも、可能な限り協力せよ」部分の以下フレーズが印象的でした。
「広報担当者にとって、こうしてマスコミの人に『貸し』をつくっておくことは、とても大切なことです。
マスコミ関係者には、金品を提供したり食事をごちそうしても貸しをつくることはできませんが、『相手の役に立つ情報を提供すること』でなら貸しを作れます。
マスコミと広報担当者は『持ちつ持たれつ』であり、ギブ&テイクの関係です。
自社の情報を売り込むだけが、広報担当者の仕事ではないのです。」（引用終わり）
P.S. ビジネスパーソンの場合でも、「可能な限り協力する」スタンスは重要であると考えています。
大きな企業になればなるほど「ギブ&テイク」ではなく、「テイク&テイク」で仕事をする人に遭遇するかもしれません（銀行とかね！）。
ただ、「テイク&テイク」狙いのやり方は長続きしないため、そういう人たちは例外なく遅かれ早かれ失脚する運命にあるため、気にする必要はないでしょう :-)。
＜ Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「可能な限り」 = 「as much as possible」＞
今回出てきた「可能な限り」の英訳は、「as much as possible」になります。
「可能な限り協力する」を英語で表現する場合、「Cooperate as much as possible」とすればよいですね :-)。

However, CEOs and other executives have told me that "give & give is important".
The material introduced today "Small Company PR strategy of counterattack (Japanese only)" has a catchphrase of "You can learn media tactics that breaks common sense!" and the following phrases were impressive.
"It's very important for a spokesperson to make a lending to the media.
You can't lend to the press even if you provide money or eat meals, but you can make a loan if you provide useful information to the other party.
The media and spokesperson are supporting each other and in a give-and-take relationship.
Selling your corporate information is not the job of a spokesperson." (Unquote)
