https://twitter.com/MPdca

PDCA (plan-do-check-action) Diary Vol. 285 "Do what you are good at rather than what you like"

When I was doing my own business, I tried various new businesses in addition to my core business (Project Management Consulting).

Since I love yoga, I tried to start the delivery services of yoga instructors.

I created HP by trial, but as a result no customer came at all.

When I talked to a female friend of business school era, she laughed by saying "In that way, customers will never come", and also commented as follows.

"Everyone has a sense of resistance to put others in house. You were a banker before and that is why customers allowed you to enter their houses. However, you are not a banker any longer. In the first place, it is not easy to succeed business in the field what you like. What you are good at is project management, isn't it?"

The material to be introduced today "The power of the temple in the era of population reduction (Japanese only)" is an interesting book which explains in detail the business of the local Japanese temples in provincial areas.

Some temples are teaching Buddhism and the number of students is increasing.

By reading this book, I could confirm that there are various chances depending on ideas in this traditional industry.

Let's function PDCA today!

P.S. Temple industry and money lending industry are considered as areas with high entry barriers, but at the same time, it is also a world where innovation can be easily created since competition is restricted.

Since I am a qualified money lending personnel, I considered to start money lending business when I was self-employed.

However, I gave up this idea, because I was not good at lending money (← former banker), so I was concentrating on project management consultation after all :-).
