【PDCA日記 Vol. 288「問題は姿を変えた機会」】
過去のPDCA日記で、「制約は機会である」ことをお伝えしました。
ビジネスの場合、制約がある中で収益の最大化を目指す必要がありますが、制約があるからこそ、ビジネスパーソンは工夫し、改善を続け、イノベーションを起こそうとするのだと、私は考えています。
今回紹介する資料「コトラーが教えてくれたこと 女子大生バンドが実践したマーケティング」は、「現代社会を覆いつくす閉塞感を打ち破る」をキャッチフレーズにしており、「機会」部分の以下フレーズが印象的でした。
「コトラーは著書の中で機会というものについて、いくつかの名言を紹介しています。
『全ての問題というものは、上手く姿を変えた機会である』
『機会が機会でなくなるより前に、それが機会だと見抜くことは難しい』
この世に存在する多くの問題は解決可能で、解決するアイデアに辿りつきさえすれば、その問題は大きなチャンスということになります。」（引用終わり）
P.S. 「クレームは宝」と言った経営者がいましたが、苦情やクレームの中にイノベーションにつながるヒントがあることは事実なのでしょう（理不尽なクレームは別ですが :-)。
今回紹介した資料「コトラーが教えてくれたこと 女子大生バンドが実践したマーケティング」は、「相手が喜んでお金を払いたくなる『良いこと』を届けていれば、ムダなコストなんかかけなくても、自然とものは売れる」というビジネスの本質をついた話をしています。
企業によっては、「相手が喜んでお金を払いたくなるもの」ではなく、「自分が喜んで作ったもの」を提供するケースがあり、このような場合は早期の軌道修正が必要になります。
問題が起こった場合、早く問題に気づき、原因分析と改善策を打って、「相手が喜んでお金を払いたくなるもの」に修正することが、存続する企業の条件なのかもしれませんね :-)。
＜ Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「機会」 = 「opportunity」＞
今回出てきた「機会」の英訳は、「opportunity」になります。
「問題は姿を変えた機会」を英語で表現する場合、「Problem is the opportunity to change shape」とすればよいですね :-)。
In the past PDCA diary, I mentioned that "Constraint can be an opportunity."
In case of business, it is necessary to maximize profits in the presence of constraints, but I think that it is because of these constraints that business people devise, improve, and innovate.
The material introduced today "What Kotler taught, marketing practiced by a female college student band (Japanese only)" has a catchphrase of "Breaking the blockage that covers modern society" and the following phrases were impressive.
"Kotler mentioned some quotes about opportunities in his book.
'Every problem is an opportunity to change shape'.
'It's hard to see that it's an opportunity before it's an opportunity'.
Many problems in the world are solvable, and as long as you get to the idea to solve it, it becomes a great opportunity." (Unquote)
