PDCA (plan-do-check-action) Diary Vol. 356 "Dejavu 670 years ago"

In response to the uproar of the new corona virus, the material introduced today "Decameron" is being reread all over the world.

"Decameron" is a great book published in the mid-1300s, and is also called "10 day story".

In order to escape the plague epidemic, which claimed to have killed about 50 million people, one-third of Europe's population, 10 men and women stayed for 10 days in a mansion in Florence, Italy.

"Decameron" was a form of killing time by story, and the following phrases were impressive.

"There is no doctor's treatment and no cure for the treatment of this illness (plague).

The nature of the illness didn't accept treatment, or maybe it was the doctor's ignorance.

In addition to regular doctors with diplomas at that time, both women and men who had never studied medicine joined the medical field, which was a huge number.

The doctor doesn't know what the cause is.

So no action can be taken.

The transfer of illness from a sick person to a healthy person was the same as when a dry object or an oiled object approached a fire.

The situation was even worse.

Not only did the illness pass to those who talked to or approached the sick people, and they did so in the same way, but the illness was transmitted just by touching the sick people clothes or what the sick people touched or used." (Unquote)
