今回紹介する資料「男と女の進化論」は、「すべては勘違いから始まった」をモットーに男女の違いを紹介している本です。
本書で印象深かったのは、「チンパンジーの若いメスよりも中年のメスに人気が集まる」という部分です。
チンパンジーの場合、メスは何歳になっても出産が可能であり、「若いメスよりも中年のメスの方が育児に熟達していることから、オスから人気がある」と今回紹介する資料「男と女の進化論」は述べています。
チンパンジーに限らず、動物の例を出しながら本書は人間との違いについても言及しており、学術的な部分を感じながらも、楽しく読める良書です。

P.S. 男女は脳の構造が根本的に異なっており、「お互いに分かり合えない」という人が多くいます。
重要なのは、「違いがある」ことを知っておくことであり、この部分は企業経営における多様性に通じることなのかもしれません。
以前は、多様性について述べる際、「ダイバーシティ（Diversity）」だけが論じられていました。
最近は、「インクルージョン（Inclusion）」を加えて、「ダイバーシティ&インクルージョン」と呼ばれるケースが多くなっています。
「インクルージョン」の和訳は、「受容」になることが殆どであり、「お互いの違いを受容する」ということなのでしょう。
「違いがある」ことを受容できない人が多い組織では、「スーツを着なければいけない」「上司より早く帰ってはいけない」「飲み会に参加しなければならない」などの「しなければならないプロセス」が多く登場しがちです。
実は、この辺りが日本企業の抱えるチャレンジだったりしますよね😊。
また、日本において「ダイバーシティ」を議論する場合、「男女のダイバーシティ」に焦点が当たってきました。
海外の企業では、「男女のダイバーシティ」から「人種、国籍、宗教、LGBT-Qを含めたあらゆるダイバーシティ」に注力が移りつつあります。
英語にはなりますが、海外企業のHPを見ると、ダイバーシティに力を入れているかどうかがある程度は分かるようになっています。
ダイバーシティに関する具体的な数値目標を掲げ、結果をHP上で公表している海外企業もあったりします。

今回出てきた「中年」の英訳は、「middle-aged」になります。
「チンパンジーのメスは中年が人気である」を英語にする場合、「Middle-aged chimpanzee females are popular than young ones」とすればよいですね😊。

The important thing is to know that there is a "difference", and this part may lead to diversity in corporate management.
Previously, when talking about diversity in Japan, only "diversity" have been discussed.
However, with the addition of "inclusion", it is often called "diversity & inclusion" nowadays.
Most of the Japanese translations of "inclusion" are "acceptance", which means "accept each other's differences".
In an organization where many people cannot accept that there is a difference, the process that must be done, such as "must wear a suit", "must not return earlier than the boss", "must attend a drinking party", etc.
Actually, this area might be a challenge for Japanese companies😊.
