今回紹介する資料「東京大学の先生伝授 文系のためのめっちゃやさしい 確率」は、「数字が苦手なわたしでも、どんどん楽しく読めちゃう」をキャッチフレーズにしており、「身近にあるいろんな確率」部分の以下のフレーズが印象的でした。
「教授：確率とは何か？それはずばりおこりやすさの程度を数値化したものです。
学生：おこりやすさの程度？
教授：世の中は、偶然に支配された出来事であふれています。
未来の出来事は、まさに『神のみぞ知る』というしかありません。
しかし、数学的な計算を行ったり、これまでにおきた出来事を分析したりすることで、『ある出来事が、どれくらいおこりそうか』という程度を数値であらわすことはできます。
それを、私たちは確率とよんでいるんです。
学生：ある出来事が、どれくらいおこりそうか・・・。
教授：ギャンブルで連勝すれば、『ツイてる』ことになるし、負ければ『ツキがなかった』と悔しがるでしょう。
実際のところ、私たちが『ツキ』とよんでいるものは、『結果のかたより』にすぎません。
学生：結果のかたより？
教授：はい。2時間目の最初のコイン1000回投げ実験を思い出してください。
あの実験では、裏が8回連続で出た場合もありましたよね。
あのときのように、出来事というものは、私たちの想像以上にかたよることがあるのです。
そして、もしコイン投げのようなギャンブルで、8回連続で負けがつづいたりしたら、『ツキがない』と思うわけですね。
結局『ツキ』とは、あとになって検証した際に、かたよった結果にだけ注目して、ツキだと感じているにすぎません。
ですから、ギャンブルの場で勝ちがつづいていたとしても、それはあくまで、出来事が偶然かたよっているだけで、同条件であるかぎり、次に勝つか負けるかの『確率』そのものが変わるわけではないのです。」（引用終わり）

P.S. 過去のPDCA日記で、「運がよい」と自分で思っている人に幸運が転がってくることを紹介しました。
科学的な観点からすると、「運」は存在しません。
人間には色々なことが起こっており、同じ事象でも「運がよい」と感じる人と「運が悪い」と思う人がいるだけです。
「運がよい」と思っている人はいつもニコニコしており、周りに人が集まってきます😊。
そうすると、様々な機会が増え、ビジネスでもプライベートでも幸運なことが起こるということですね。
要するに、「自分は運がよいと思っている人によいことが起こる」ということになります。
これは心の持ちようで今から誰でもできることですので、皆様も是非「自分は運がよい」と思うようにしてみてください😊。
＜ Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「ツキ」 = 「luck」＞
今回出てきた「ツキ」の英訳は、「luck」になります。
「ツキは結果のかたよりにすぎない」を英語で表現する場合、「Luck is nothing more than a result bias」とすればよいですね😊。

After all, luck is just a feeling that it is luck, paying attention only to the hard results when verifying it later.
