今回紹介する資料「ポップカルチャーで学ぶ社会学入門」は、「「当たり前」を問い直すための視座」をキャッチフレーズにしており、「フォーディズムからポスト・フォーディズムへ」部分の以下のフレーズが印象的でした。
「近代以降、重化学工業が発展するとともに、規格化された製品を大量に生産する生産様式が主流となりました。
このような生産様式は、かつてのフォード自動車会社に典型的に見られたことから『フォーディズム』と呼ばれています。
でも、消費社会が成熟していくとともに、消費者の様々な欲望に応えられるよう多品種少量生産を効率的に行える生産様式が、『フォーディズム』に代わって求められるようになります。
それは次第に、ホスピタリティ産業をはじめとする第三次産業にも拡がっていき、『ポスト・フォーディズム』と呼ばれるようになりました。
ポスト・フォーディズム的な生産様式が拡大していく1970年代後半から、イギリスのマーガレット・サッチャー元首相が推進した新自由主義的政策に代表されるように、教育や福祉など公共部門の民営化といった『社会サービスの私企業化（プライヴァタイゼーション）』、及びそのための規制緩和が導入され、既存の制度にとらわれないフレキシビリティ（柔軟性）が求められるようになっていきます。
そうして初めて、企業は利潤をあげ生き残りに成功できるようになるのです。
ちなみに、サッチャーが自分を批判する人たちによく投げつけたのが、批判するなら対案を出せという言葉です（この言い回しを、『TINA（There is no Alternative）』と言います）。
この言葉は、それ以降、新自由主義的な製作を打ち出す政治家の間で、何度も繰り返し用いられることになります。
今でも、一部の政治家が答弁でよく言っていたりしますね。
これって、一瞬納得してしまいそうになる賢そうな言葉に見えるのですが、実は、サッチャーたちから繰り返し使われている、すりきれたフレーズに過ぎないのです。」（引用終わり）

P.S. マーガレット・サッチャーを英語で表現すると、「Margaret Thatcher」になります。
サッチャーが英語になると、「Thatcher」と発音することは余り知られていないため、イギリス人と話す場合は注意しましょう😊。
サッチャーについては、未だに評価が世界中で分かれています。
新自由主義の推進によって、イギリスを英国病から復活させた救世主とサッチャーを崇める人がいます。
一方で、サッチャーの政策は失業者を増大させ、地方経済を不振に追いやった「血も涙もない人間」と酷評するリベラル派の人もいます。
日本でもサッチャーに対する評価は分かれていますが、彼女が11年以上首相の座にいたことは評価すべきであると私は考えています。
小泉首相や安倍首相についても評価が分かれていますが、2人は長期政権を築いたから評価の対象になっていると言えます。
1年程度しか首相の座にいなかった人はそもそも評価の対象にすらなっておらず、政治でもビジネスでも継続性の重要性を感じますね😊。
＜ Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「対案」 = 「alternative」＞
今回出てきた「対案」の英訳は、「alternative」になります。
「対案がない」を英語で表現する場合、「There is no alternative」とすればよいですね😊。
