今回紹介する資料「建設DX」は、「デジタルがもたらす建設産業のニューノーマル」をキャッチフレーズにしており、「建設AIの導入に立ちはだかる課題」部分の以下のフレーズが印象的でした。
「建設業界で空前の盛り上がりを見せるAI開発だが、決して順風満帆なケースばかりとは言えない。
大半は実用段階に至っておらず、着手したばかりか、実証実験にとどまっている。
また、開発の途中でプロジェクトが頓挫したり、想定した結果が得られない『使えないAI』が生まれたりする事例も後を絶たない。
建設関連会社Xの失敗事例を紹介しよう。
X社はAIを使って生産性を向上させようと、ソフトウェア開発などをしている社員をAIの担当に任命した。
担当社員は、上層部からの指示で講習会に参加したり、ウェブ検索で調べものをしたりしてAIを勉強した後に、システム開発会社へ発注した。
しかし、目的や求める性能があやふやだったために、使えないAIが納品されてしまった。
失敗を招いた原因の根本には、担当者を外部の講習会に行かせておけば何とかなる、といった甘い認識がある。

DX推進があちこちで叫ばれていますが、経営側が担当者に仕事を丸投げしてしまうと、「使えないDX」が発生してしまいます。
この悲劇（？）を避けるためには、担当者が定期的に経営側に進捗を報告し、問題をすぐに上申する仕組みを構築することです。
月次で報告しようとする担当者が多いようですが、週次で定期報告を行い、チャレンジはすぐに共有するようにすれば、「使えないDX」の発生を避けることができると私は思いますね😊。
＜ Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「原因根本」 = 「root cause」＞
今回出てきた「原因根本」の英訳は、「root cause」になります。
「失敗を招いた原因根本」を英語で表現する場合、「The root cause of the failure」とすればよいですね😊。
