PDCA (plan-do-check-action) Diary Vol. 967 "Best to do what they want to do?"

The material introduced today "Raising Children Who Can Succeed in Business & Study (Japanese only)" explains how parents should raise children for success.

Traditionally, the higher the education, the higher the probability of success, but the birth of the Internet has cast a question mark on traditional education.

Ultimately, this book claims that it is best to let children do what they want to do.

For that purpose, it is counterproductive to let the parents take the exam or go to school that children do not want to go to.

This material includes MBA theory and is a recommended book for those who have questions about the current educational system.

P.S. By the way, when I was working at bank, a former colleague who graduated from a top-class university in Japan was mentioning the following remarks.

"I wanted to continue playing baseball in high school, but my parents forced me to study for college and I had to give up my baseball playing.

I still regret having quit baseball in accordance with my parents' opinions."

The former colleague also said that his relationship with his parents was still jerky, because he was abandoned baseball in high school days.

It was one act that he felt that there were cases where even a person who seemed to be successful from the surroundings continued to have challenges due to the ego of his parents.

Basically, parents' opinions are obsolete for nearly 30 years, and even if children decide to follow his or her path of parents' ideas, it does not mean that he or she will be happy in the future.

It may be the role of parents to support what their children want to do.
