【PDCA日記 Vol. 984「失敗には2種類ある」】
先日のPDCAカフェで、「考えすぎて行動できずに悩んでいます」という若手の方がおり、「Mr. PDCAが銀行を退職して、自営を始めた時は人生のターニング・ポイントだったと思いますが、どういうことを考えていたのですか？」と質問されていました。
「何も考えていなかった」が結論になり、「自分でビジネスをする方が効率的だし、楽しそうだから始めた」ということが私の回答になります。
今回紹介する資料「稼ぎたければ、捨てなさい」は、「永続的にビジネスを成功させるための秘密公開」をキャッチフレーズにしており、以下のフレーズが印象的でした。
「失敗する人には2種類ある。
考えたけれども実践しなかった人と、実践したけど考えなかった人だ。」（引用終わり）
上記は、教育学者であるローレンス・J・ピーターの言葉ですが、今回紹介する資料「稼ぎたければ、捨てなさい」は「考えて、実践する」ために、何が必要であるかを具体的に示しているため、将来自営を始めたり、起業することを考えている方にはお勧めの一冊です。
また、経営戦略やマーケティングに興味がある人にも読んで頂きたい書籍であり、「1万時間の法則」や「売上は市場選定が9割」など、実際のビジネスに役立つ情報も豊富に盛り込まれています。

P.S. 「考えたけれども実践しなかった人」と「実践したけど考えなかった人」を比較すると、「考えたけれども実践しなかった人」の方が多いような気がしています。
昨年のPDCAカフェで、「Mr. PDCA、私は起業を考えています。世の中を変えるイノベーションを起こしてみせますよ」と宣言していた人がいました。
その方と、先日お会いしましたが、去年と同じように「今も起業プランを考えています。見ていてください」と述べておられました。
起業のことだけであれば、「実践したけど考えなかった人（とにかく動いた人）」の方が上手くいく可能性が高いと自営経験者の私は思ったりします。
日本のように社会保障が整備されている国においては、あれこれ考えずにひとまずやってみることの方がリスクの低い（ほとんどない?）行動だったりします。
いつも思うのですが、日本における自営業者や起業家の社会的地位がそれほど高くないのは不思議ですね😊。
＜ Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「考える」=「consider」＞
今回出てきた「考える」を英語にする場合、いくつか候補がありますが、「深く考える」、「悩む」というニュアンスがある場合、「consider」がしっくりくるような気がします。
大学時代、予備校で英語を教えていた際、高校生から「considerとthinkの違いが分からない」というコメントがありましたが、「判断を要することを『考える』場合は『consider』を使うイメージ」と回答した記憶があります。
PDCA日記の英語版でも時々「consider」を使いますが、「think」とは無意識に使い分けており、英語は話して、書き続けることが重要なのだなと改めて感じています😊。
本日は、関西ジャニーズJr.主演のドラマ「年下彼氏」 を紹介します。
ドラマ「年下彼氏」は、新型コロナウイルス感染拡大防止の影響で、多くのドラマ派が放送開始延期、放送中止に追い込まれる中、珍しく予定通り放送された作品として話題になりました。
この作品の中で私にとって一番印象的だったのは、以下のセリフでしたね😊。
「無理すんなよ。ここでは無理しなくていいよ。」
皆様も新型コロナウイルス騒動を受けて、色々な無理がかかっていると思います。
たまには「何もしない日（レイジーデイ）」を設けて、無理をしない（怠ける）日を過ごしましょう😊。
青春時代を取り戻したいビジネスパーソンに、今回紹介する映画「年下彼氏」はお勧めの作品です。

At the PDCA cafe the other day, one young colleague mentioned that "I tend to consider too much and I cannot move forward".
This colleague also asked me that, "When Mr. PDCA left the bank and started your own business, what were you thinking about?"
The conclusion is that "I (Mr. PDCA) didn't think about anything at all".
The material to be introduced today "If you want to make money, you have to give up something (Japanese only)" reveals "Secrets to succeed in business permanently" and the following phrases were impressive.
"There are two types of people who fail. One type is those who considered, but they did not move.
The other is those who moved, but they did not consider." (Unquote)
Dr. Lawrence J. Peter (Specialist in pedagogy) mentioned above words, and this book reiterates the importance of "Consideration & Implementation".
I couldn't agree more about "Consideration & Implementation" as a person who experienced self-employment😊.

P.S. When comparing "people who thought but did not move" and "people who moved but did not think", I feel that there are more "people who thought but did not move".
At the PDCA cafe last year, there was a person who declared, "Mr. PDCA, I am thinking of starting a business. I will bring about innovation that will change the world".
I met him the other day this year, and he said, "I'm still thinking about an entrepreneurial plan. Please take a look," just like last year.
If it's just about entrepreneurship, I think that "people who moved but didn't think (people who implemented anyway)" are more likely to succeed in business.
In a country like Japan where social security is in place, it may be a less risky (almost no risk?) behavior to try for the time being without thinking about risk.
As I always think, it is strange that the social status of self-employed business persons and entrepreneurs in Japan is not so high 😊.
