【PDCA日記 Vol. 1,202「いい歯医者の条件」】
過去のPDCA日記でも紹介しましたが、私は歯の手入れにかなり気を使っています。
歯の健康についてかなりの時間とコストをかけているため、虫歯になってしまうと結構ショックを感じます。
ある日、かかりつけの歯医者でクリーニングとチェックアップを行い、その帰り道に本屋で今回紹介する資料「いい歯医者：誰も教えてくれなかった歯科の選び方」に出会いました。
いい歯医者の選び方が、書かれてあって参考になりました😊。
私にとって、いい歯科とは歯科衛生士の定着率が高い歯科です。
歯科衛生士は、転職が多い職業として知られています。
歯科衛生士が長く働いている歯科であれば、提供しているサービスもよい可能性が高いということですね😊。
歯科衛生士もそうですが、民間企業においても、スタッフの定着率が良い組織の方が業績も良い傾向が強いです。
これはある意味当たり前の話で、採用にはかなりの時間とコストがかかるからです。
転職エージェント経由の採用手数料（エージェントに支払う費用）は、転職者の年収の半分にまで高騰しています。
以前は30%から35％程度のエージェントコストでしたが、転職が一般的になり求人数が多いこともあって、50%近くまで上がりました。
転職エージェントは参入障壁が低いこともあって、一人でビジネスを始める人も多いですね😊。

P.S. 日本語は口を大きくあけて話さなくても通じる言語です。
日本語の言語的特徴が、日本でマスクを使う人が多い理由の一つであると私は考えています。
英語は、口をあけて吐く息で話す言語です。
また、英語には「th」のように舌を歯で挟んで発音したり、「f」のように上の歯で下唇を噛んで発音する単語があります。
そのため、英語を話す際に歯並びが悪いと発音がしにくいわけです。
アメリカの場合、歴史的に審美歯科が発達しており、歯並びが悪かったり、歯の問題を抱えている人は社会の中でネガティブな意味で目立つということがあります。
私の最初の職場だった外資系金融機関では、「歯並びが悪いと出世できない」という不文律がありました。
外資系金融機関の場合、社内公用語が英語であり、歯並びが悪いと発音がチャレンジングになってしまい、コミュニケーションが取れなくなってしまうからです。
それ以前に、歯並びが悪いと面接で良い印象を与えられず、入社が困難になるという事情もあります。
「ビジネスパーソンは歯が命」ということで、皆様も是非歯を美しく保って下さい😊。
＜Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「帰り道の」=「on one's way home」＞
今回出てきた「帰り道の」の英訳は、「on one's way home」になります。
「帰り道の本屋で運命の本を見つけた」を英語にする場合、「I found a destined book at the bookstore on my way home」とすればよいですね😊。

As I mentioned in the past PDCA diary, I am very careful in dental care.
Since I spend a lot of time and money on my dental health, I feel quite shocked if I have a tooth decay.
One day, I went to my dentist for cleaning and check-up, and on my way home, I came across the material introduced today "Good dentist: How to choose a dentist that no one taught you (Japanese only)".
I found this book helpful to choose a good dentist😊.
Dental hygienists are known for their frequent career changes.
If your dental hygienist has been working for a long time, the services you provide are likely to be good 😊.
As with dental hygienists, even in private companies, organizations with a good staff retention rate tend to perform better.
This is, in a sense, a matter of course, because hiring can be quite time consuming and costly.
In Japan, recruitment fees (costs paid to agents) through career change agents have risen to half of the annual salary of career changers these days.
Previously, the agent cost was about 30% to 35%, but it has increased to nearly 50% due to the generalization of job changes and the large number of job openings in Japan.
There are many people who start a business by themselves because the barriers to entry are low for job change agents in Japan😊.
