< Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「都会の」 = 「in the city

を英語で表現する場合、「The problem is the elderly in the city?」

PDCA (plan-do-check-action) Diary Vol. 1,221 "The problem is the elderly in the city?"

In the material introduced today "Silver Democracy-Preparation and Responsibility for the Postwar Generations (Japanese only)", I was impresses with the part "The problem is the elderly in the city?"

This book explains that many elderly rural people have been engaged in the field of agriculture as their main industry as they can move their bodies.

On the other hand, the majority of the elderly in the city are retired from the company, and it is easy to fall into the situation of "There is nothing to do" while staying at home all day long.

"Rarely, since they were young, people who have built networks in their own areas of interest or created communities within their own living bases outside the affiliated organizations." (Unquote)

In Japan, the word "corporate warrior" is disappearing, but if you stay in the company until late every day and work, you should read this material.

Reading this book may be a good opportunity to think about the future of silver democracy in Japan as well as the situation of silver democracy in the United Kingdom and the United States.

P.S. Young men and women living in the city are sometimes referred to as "city boys" or "city girls" in English.

Interestingly, Americans describe Manhattan in New York as "city."

I lived in Manhattan when the Northeast blackout in August 2003.

The power outage continued for about 29 hours, but I walked to the office the next day because my workplace was near my house, but it was closed.

From there, I called a colleague in New Jersey and she said, "The office is still closed," and commented, "Mr. PDCA, I'm glad you were in City (Manhattan)."
