2020年の新型コロナウイルス騒動で影響を受けた業種として、観光・飲食業が筆頭に挙げられます。
また、アパレル業界も打撃を受け、紳士服業界は壊滅的な状況に陥りました。
テレワークの普及によって、オフィスに行かなくなる会社員が増加し、スーツを着る機会が減ったためです。
今回紹介する資料「迷ったら茨の道を行け」は「紳士服業界に旋風を巻き起こすオーダースーツSADAの挑戦」を解説しており、「コンサルタントは経営者ではないという歯がゆさ」部分の以下フレーズが印象的でした。

P.S. 日本の一部の大企業では、テレワーク中もスーツ着用を義務付けるという不思議なことをしていたところがあるようです。
そもそもドレスコード自体が時代遅れであり、スーツを着る方がパフォーマンスを上げられると思っている人は勝手にスーツを着れば良いのですが、それを他の人に強要するのはお門違いというものです。
私は2016年に自営を始めてから基本的にテレワークで過ごしていますが、自宅での仕事で一番良いのは服装を気にしなくてよいことですね😊。
ウェブ会議などの場合、カメラをオフにすることで服装にこだわる必要がなくなります。

今回出てきた「歯がゆい」の英訳は、「irritate」になります。

P.S. It seems that some large Japanese companies were doing the strange thing of requiring their employees to wear suits even during working from home.
In the first place, the dress code itself is outdated, I suppose.
People who think that wearing suits will improve their performance should wear a suit without permission, but forcing others to wear suits is a misnomer.
I've basically been working from home since I started my own business in 2016.
In that perspective, I might be called as a specialist of working from home.
The best thing about working from home is that you don't have to worry about your clothes 😊.
For web conferencing, turning off the camera eliminates the need to stick to clothes.
