【PDCA日記 Vol. 1,254「絶対的真理は存在しない」】
私がフランスの大学院で学んでいた時、「経営学には反復性がない。ここがチャレンジングなところである」と組織論の教授が話していたことをよく覚えています。
自然科学の場合、実験などを繰り返しながら一定の法則が確認されると、それは「反復性がある」ということになります。
一方、経営学の場合、経営判断を行うときのシチュエーションがそれぞれ違います。
そのため、「全く同じ条件で違う経営判断を下し、右に行った場合と左に行った時の違いを確認する」という作業ができないのです。
今回紹介する資料「正しく理解する教養としての心理学」は「本来の心理学とは何かを追究した実用性の高いテキスト」をキャッチフレーズにしており、「絶対的心理は存在しない」部分の以下フレーズが印象的でした。
「科学的に正しいことは、絶対的真実のように思うかもしれない。
しかし科学では、断言できる真実は存在しない。
科学的に正しいこととは、『反証されず残っている仮説』のことである。
あらゆる理論や法則は、仮説にすぎない。
しかし、『反証されず残っている仮説』には、『確からしさ』に違いがある。」（引用終わり）

P.S. 今回紹介する資料「正しく理解する教養としての心理学」が「絶対的心理は存在しない」と述べていることについて、日産とルノーのアライアンスが一つの例になるかもしれません。
私がフランスのビジネススクールに行っていた2010年、日産とルノーのアライアンスは自動車業界において例外的な成功事例としてもてはやされていました。
世界中のビジネススクールが日産とルノーのアライアンスについてケースを作成し、学生たちがそれに基づいて議論を深めていたのです。
しかしながら、2018年11月にカルロス・ゴーン元日産会長が逮捕されると日産とルノーの業績が大きく悪化し、現在は「トップの暴走を防げなかったガバナンス機能不全組織」という烙印を押されています。
過去にも似たようなケースはあり、日本のバブルが崩壊する前の1980年代後半まで、ヤオハンやダイエーなどの積極的な拡大経営が賞賛されていました。
しかしながら、バブルが崩壊し財務悪化が明らかになると、ヤオハンやダイエーは「乱脈経営の典型例」とメディアで取り上げられるようになります。
画家や芸術家は時代によって評価が変わると言いますが、経営者や企業に対する見方も時代によって移り変わるということでしょうね。
＜ Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「絶対的な」 = 「absolute」＞
今回出てきた「絶対的な」の英訳は、「absolute」になります。
「絶対的真理は存在しない」を英語で表現する場合、「There is no absolute truth」とすればよいですね😊。

P.S. The alliance between Nissan and Renault may be an example of the fact that the material "Psychology as a culture to understand correctly" states that "absolute psychology does not exist."
In 2010, when I was attending a French business school, the Nissan-Renault alliance was touted as an exceptional success story in the automotive industry.
Business schools around the world created cases about the Nissan-Renault alliance, and students deepened their discussions based on it.
However, when former Nissan Chairperson Carlos Ghosn was arrested in November 2018, the performance of Nissan and Renault deteriorated significantly, and it is now branded as a "governance dysfunctional organization that could not prevent the top management fraud".
There have been similar cases in the past, and until the latter half of the 1980s, before the burst of the Japanese economy bubble, aggressive expansion management such as Yaohan and Daiei was praised.
However, when the bubble burst and the financial deterioration became apparent, Yaohan and Daiei began to be featured in the media as "typical examples of turbulent management."
Painters and artists say that their evaluations change with the times, but their views on business owners and companies also change with the times.
