先日、ビットコイン投資を行っている人から連絡がありました。
このブログが金融系（？）のせいか、私がビットコイン投資を行っているかどうかの質問を受けました。
私はビットコイン投資をしたことはありませんし、今後もしません。
その理由は、仕組みが分からないからです。
ビットコインは目に見えません（当たり前ですが）。
最近は外国人が日本で不動産を購入する際、ビットコインを使うケースがあるそうです。
このような場合は、確かに便利なのでしょう。
ただ、私は不動産を買わないので、ビットコインは不要です。
ビットコインを買う人の99%は投機目的で、派手な生活にあこがれていることが多いです。
これは良いことでもあるのですが、ビットコインは金利が付かず、本質的価値がないことを知っておくことが重要ですね。
今回紹介する資料「すでに革命は起こっていたのか」は、以下のフレーズが印象的でした。
「近代社会において、模倣しあうことが社会の根本的な構造の中にある。
そこにスケープゴートを作り出すことで、暴力を排除してきた。
そうした考え方にピーター・ティールはシンパシーを感じ、ソーシャルメディアの会社に投資してきたとも言えます。
逆に、競争はよくないということを言っていることともつながっているのでしょう。
政治哲学や政治的アイデンティティ、政治思想というより、ティールにとって模倣の欲望は生き方の指針になってきたのではないかと思います。」（引用終わり）

模倣が資本主義の中で重要な役割を果たすことを、彼は知っていました。
ティールは初期のフェイスブックに投資し、莫大な利益を上げたことでも知られています。
彼がフェイスブックに投資した様子は、映画「ソーシャル・ネットワーク」でも描かれています。

今回出てきた「模倣」の英訳は、「counterfeiting」になります。
「ビットコインと模倣」を英語で表現する場合、「Bitcoin & Counterfeiting」とすればよいですね😊
The other day, I was contacted by someone who is investing in Bitcoin.
Perhaps because this blog is about finance (?), they asked me if I'm investing in Bitcoin.
I have never invested in Bitcoin, and I don't plan on doing so in the future.
The reason is that I don't understand how it works.

Recently, I've heard that foreigners are using Bitcoin when purchasing real estate in Japan.
I'm sure it's convenient in these cases.
However, since I don't buy real estate, I don't need Bitcoin.
99% of people who buy Bitcoin do so for speculative purposes, often aspiring to a flashy lifestyle.
While this is a good thing, it's important to know that Bitcoin does not earn interest and has no intrinsic value.
The following phrases in the book introduced today, "Has the Bad News Already Happened?", struck me.
"In modern society, imitation is a fundamental part of its structure.
Creating scapegoats has helped to eliminate violence.
It could be said that Peter Thiel sympathizes with this way of thinking, leading him to invest in social media companies.
Conversely, this may also be connected to his belief that competition is bad.
Rather than a political philosophy, political identity, or political ideology, I think that for Thiel, the desire to imitate has become a guiding principle in his way of life." (Unquote)
