【PDCA日記 Vol. 1,949「AIは人間に置き換えられない？」】
「AIが人間の仕事を奪うのか？」という議論が増えていますが、実際には人間が対応する仕事は結構あると私は考えています。
人間の仕事がなくなった歴史は過去にあり、最初は新石器革命です。
新石器革命は、人間の生活が狩猟から農耕中心に変わった革命であり、紀元前1万年から紀元前8000年頃にシュメール（現在のイラク南部）で始まりました。
人間の仕事がなくなった2回目は産業革命で、1700年代半ばから1800年代にかけて機械化が進みました。
今回のAI革命は人類が直面する3回目の「仕事がなくなる局面」ですが、ピーター・ティールというアメリカの著名な投資家が書いた「ゼロ・トゥ・ワン」が参考になります。
「ゼロ・トゥ・ワン」の12章は、「人間と機械」というタイトルになっています。
「機械は人間に置き換えられない」と、ティールは述べています。
ただ、「人間ができることの中で機械が置き換えられることは増えていく」とも解説しています。
「人間がやらなくてもよい仕事はAIに任せ、人間は本当にしたいことを仕事にすればよい」ということが本書のメッセージであると私は受け止めています。
ティールは初期のフェイスブックに投資をしたことで有名ですが、イーロン・マスクと共にペイパルを創業した起業家でもあります。
ティールは「ゼロ・トゥ・ワン」の中で、人間の可能性について以下のように述べています。
「ほかの生き物と違って、人類には奇跡を起こす力がある。僕らはそれを『テクノロジー』と呼ぶ。」（引用終わり）

＜ Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「置き換える」 = 「replace」＞
今回出てきた「置き換える」の英訳は、「replace」になります。
「AIは人間に置き換えられない？」を英語で表現する場合、「Can AI replace humans?」とすればよいですね😊。
There is an increasing debate about whether AI will take over human jobs, but I believe that there are actually quite a few jobs that only humans can handle.
There are several events in the history of the disappearance of human jobs in the past, and the first one must be the Neolithic Revolution.
The Neolithic Revolution, a revolution that changed human life from hunting to farming, began in Sumer (now southern Iraq) around 10,000 BC to 8,000 BC.
The second time humans lost existing jobs was the Industrial Revolution, which saw the rise of mechanization in the mid-1700s and 1800s.
AI revolution this time is the third “jobless phase” that humanity has faced.
In this phase, the book "Zero to One" written by a prominent American investor named Peter Thiel can be helpful for us.
Chapter 12 of "Zero to One" is titled "Man and Machine".
“Machines cannot replace humans,” says Thiel.
However, he also explains that “the number of things that can be done by humans will be replaced by machines.''
I believe that the message of this book is that "Leave jobs that humans don't need to do to AI, and let humans do what they really want to do."
Thiel is best known for being an early Facebook investor, but he is also an entrepreneur who co-founded PayPal with Elon Musk.
In his book “Zero to One”, Thiel describes human potential as follows:
"Unlike other creatures, humans have the power to create miracles. We call it 'technology.'" (Unquote)
