閣僚全員が自民党になったこともあって、安全保障のスタンスも従来とは違いがあります。
与党と野党で経済政策の違いはありますが、安全保障への考え方の方が違いは大きそうです。
私は旧日本軍の研究を続けており、色々な点でビジネスの参考になります。
リニアモーターカーのように黒字にならなさそうなプロジェクトを延々と続ける様子は、敗北が決定的になってもアメリカと戦い続けた旧日本軍に似ています。
今回紹介する資料「終戦後の日本軍」は、以下のフレーズが印象的でした。
「海上保安庁は戦後に初めて、実戦を経験した組織でもある。
しかもこの実戦によって、死者も出ている。
海保が参加したのは、朝鮮戦争である。
直接戦闘には参加しなかったものの、仁川と元山上陸作戦の前準備として、マッカーサーは周辺海域の機雷除去に日本の掃海部隊を使用つもりだった。
日本は占領下にあったため、吉田茂首相はGHQの派遣要請を了承している。
1950年10月10日から特別掃海隊が半島方面に出動した。
掃海船20隻、試航船1隻、巡視船4隻という陣容である。
掃海作戦は約8週間続いた。
この作業中の10月17日、MS14号艇が機雷に触れて沈没し、1名の死者を出してしまう。
これについて、1953年3月の参議院予算委員会などで野党から憲法違反と問題されていたが、政府は『戦闘ではなく掃海に従事した』と反論している。
危険を伴いながらも、掃海部隊が機雷除去に従事したことで、国連軍の安全は確保された。
この活動は、アメリカの心象を改善させたといわれている。」（引用終わり）

朝鮮戦争で海上保安庁の隊員に犠牲が出ていたことは、この本を読んで初めて知りました。
私は2002年から2年間、ニューヨークに住んでいました。
2001年9月の同時多発テロ以降、マンハッタンは厳戒態勢でした。
職場のビル上空には軍用機が飛来し、街のあちこちにマシンガンを持った州兵が配備されていました。
その後、2003年3月にイラク戦争が始まり、ウォール街の職場でも当時のブッシュ政権についての議論が交わされていました。
私は選挙権を得てから、国政、地方にかかわらず全ての選挙に投票しています。
戦時下のアメリカでの緊迫した生活経験が、投票所に足を運ばせているのかもしれません。

今回出てきた「海上保安庁」の英訳は、「Japan Coast Guard」になります。
「海上保安庁の初仕事」を英語で表現する場合、「First job at the Japan Coast Guard」とすればよいですね😊
The following phrases stood out to me in the book introduced today, "The Japanese Military After the War."
"The Japan Coast Guard (JCG) was also the first organization to experience actual combat after the war.
However, this combat resulted in casualties.
The JCG participated in the Korean War.
Although they did not take part in direct combat, MacArthur intended to use Japanese minesweeping units to clear mines from the surrounding waters in preparation for the Incheon and Wonsan landings.
As Japan was under occupation, Prime Minister Yoshida Shigeru approved GHQ's request for deployment.
The Special Minesweeping Unit was deployed to the peninsula area from October 10, 1950.
The unit consisted of 20 minesweepers, one trial ship, and four patrol boats.
The minesweeping operations lasted approximately The operation continued for eight weeks.
During this operation, on October 17, boat MS14 struck a mine and sank, resulting in one fatality.
This was criticized by opposition parties at the House of Councilors Budget Committee in March 1953 and elsewhere as a violation of the Constitution, but the government responded by stating that it was 'engaged in minesweeping, not combat.'

It was only after reading this book that I learned about the loss of Japan Coast Guard personnel during the Korean War.
