【PDCA日記 Vol. 1,970「歴史は共感するためにある？」】
このブログでは哲学や歴史の話題が多いのですが、私が読んでいる本が哲学や歴史関連であることも大きく影響しています（当然ですが😊）。
今回紹介する資料「「移動」の未来」は、「ネットで注文した商品がその日に届く。そんな当たり前を実現するために、世界中の交通・物流システムは悲鳴をあげ、崩壊の危機に直面している」と警報を鳴らしています。
「「移動」の未来」は採取されてから時間が経過し、ブラックでは飲めないようになったコーヒーを無理やり商品化し、「味をごまかすためにミルクと砂糖を入れるようになった」というコーヒー焙煎人の以下のセリフを紹介しています。
「何世代もの人々が、実にひどいコーヒーを飲んできました。
ミルクと砂糖を大量に入れて、ようやく飲めるようなものをね。」（引用終わり）
私がアメリカで働いていた時に遭遇した「新聞のインク」と呼ばれていたコーヒーも、流通網の発達により、人類が地球の裏側で生産されたものを簡単に消費できるようになったことの副作用だったと言えるのかもしれません。
「砂糖の世界史」という本も面白く、歴史を学ぶ意義について以下のように解説しています。
「人びとが何を食べ、何を着ていて、どんなところに住んでいたのか。どんなことをうれしいと思い、どんなことに涙したのか。
そうした具体的な生活の局面がわからなければ、私たちは、その時代、その地域の人びとと共感しあうことができません。
歴史を勉強する大きな目的のひとつは、そうした共感を得ることなのですから、このことはたいへん重要なのです。」（引用終わり）

17世紀頃までは砂糖は高級な食材で、もっと昔は薬としても扱われていたそうです。
その後、産業革命でイギリスが豊かになり、紅茶に砂糖を入れて飲む文化ができます。
砂糖は人類の歴史上初の世界商品であり、それを国際分業で生産することによって資本主義が生まれ、近代国家が生まれたことも、「砂糖の世界史」で紹介されています。
現在は「取り過ぎに注意」という警報がならされている砂糖ですが、資本主義が生んだ世界商品だったことを初めて知りました。

＜ Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「国際分業」 = 「international division of labor」＞
今回出てきた「国際分業」の英訳は、「international division of labor」になります。
「国際分業で生産する」を英語で表現する場合、「produce with international division of labor」とすればよいですね😊。
When I was working in New York, free coffee was offered in the office, but it is known that the taste is not that good.

In order to realize such an amazing operation, the transportation and logistics systems around the world are facing a crisis of collapse" and the following phrases were impressive.
"People all over the world are having terrible coffee, because they are using sugar and milk.
Anybody on this planet can have coffee now, but very few people are drinking real coffee." (Unquote)
The above sentence was made by the seasoned roaster and coffee is supposed to be consumed by black without putting milk or sugar according to him.
As the transportation system has developed, we can move to the opposite side of earth within a day.
The book “Door to Door” reminds us of important things we are about to forget and we may had better reconsider several convenient factors😊.
