アメリカの大企業で、DEI（Diversity, Equity & Inclusion：多様性・公平性・包括性）に関する見直しが話題になっています。
DEIをやらないわけではなく、「普通にやっているので、対外的に宣言することはやめます」というスタンスを取る企業が増えているわけですね。
そんな中、多様性の目標を掲げ続けるところもあり、企業文化の違いを感じています。
私自身、アメリカの企業が最初の職場でした。
20年以上前の話ですが、DEIを経営者が色々な場所で発信していました。
最高多様性責任者（Chief Diversity Officer：CDO）という役員までいました。
CDOの役割は謎でしたが、DEIに対する姿勢は先進的だったと感じています。
今回紹介する資料「エシックス経営」は「パーパスを経営現場に実装する」をキャッチフレーズにしており、パタゴニア創業者であるイヴォン・シュイナードの以下コメントが印象的でした。
「サステナビリティなんてものは存在しない。
私たちにできる一番のことは、与える害を最小限にすることだ。」（イヴォン・シュイナードのコメント終わり）

＜ 本日のボンジュール英語「実装する」 = 「implement」＞
今回出てきた「実装する」の英訳は、「implement」になります。
「パーパスを経営現場に実装する」を英語で表現する場合、「Implementing purpose in business operations」とすればよいですね😊。

This was more than 20 years ago, but the management was promoting DEI in various places.
It seems that DEI isn't being promoted as much now, so it may be that it's already well established."
