PDCA日記 Vol. 1,704「ケチは一番の無駄遣い？」
最近、同僚と週に2回か3回はランチに行っています。
その際に本をプレゼントし、食事代も基本的に私が払っています。
こうすると、「気前がいいですね」と言われますが、本代やランチ代はわずかです。
本をプレゼントすると、後で感想を伝えてくれるケースがあり、これが私にとってよい勉強になっています。
紙の本の需要は減っていますが、プレゼント可能という利点があります。
私はこれからも、紙の本を買い続けることでしょう。
今回紹介する資料「世界は経営でできている」は「人間とサルの違いは経営にあった」をキャッチフレーズにしており、以下のフレーズが印象的でした。
「ケチの極致は実は一番の無駄遣いである。
極端な話、死ぬまでタンス預金にお金を貯め続けて、そのお金の在処（ありか）を誰にも告げなかった人がいたとすると、巨額の現金はその人の死とともに実質的に失われる。
すると巨額のお金を自分のためにも他者のためにも使わずに捨てたに等しい。

今回出てきた「ケチな」の英訳は、「stingy」になります。
