【PDCA日記 Vol. 222「見えないものに目を注ぐ」】

私はミッション系の大学に通っていたのですが、同じクラスだった体育会系の学生から、こんなことを聞きました。

「重要な試合の前に、コーチが聖書の言葉を話してくれるのだが、心に響くものばかりで、緊張をほぐすことができる。」

昨年（2019年）のある競技で、この大学が日本一をかけた試合前のミーティング動画が公開されており、聖書の「コリントの使徒への手紙二4章18節」を引用した内容が話されていました。

「『私たちは見えるものではなく、見えないものに目を注ぎます。

見えるものは過ぎ去りますが、見えないものは永遠に存続するからです。』（聖書引用終わり）

このチームが日本一をかけた決勝戦に来るまで、色々な人のサポートを受けてきました。

多くの方々のサポートという『見えないもの』のおかげで、今日の決勝戦という『見えるもの』につながったのだと思います。」（コーチコメント終わり）

今回紹介する資料「ビジュアル図解　聖書と名画」は、「人類史上最大のベストセラー『聖書』を名画と共に、旧約聖書から新約聖書まで丁寧に解説」をキャッチフレーズにしており、「天地創造の7日間」部分の以下フレーズが印象的でした。

「1日目：光と闇を分け、昼と夜とした。

2日目：大空の上と下に水を分けた。

3日目：海と地をつくり、植物を生やした。

4日目：太陽、月、星をつくった。

5日目：魚、鳥をつくり、繁殖を奨励した。

6日目：陸の動物をつくり、人間を創造した。

7日目：天地万象が完成し、神は休息した。」（引用終わり）

P.S. 聖書内では、神が週休1日で働いたことが示されており、日本でも法律で週に1日は休みを取ることが規定されています。

現在の日本では、週休2日を採用している企業が多くなっていますが、昨年（2019年）8月に大手ソフトウェア企業が、週休3日制度を試したことがメディアで報じられています。

フランスでは週35時間労働が行われており、人間はこれからもどんどん休みを取るようになっていくのかもしれませんね :-)。

＜ Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「週休2日」 = 「5-day work week」＞

今回出てきた「週休2日」の英訳は、「5-day work week」になります。

「彼は週休2日で働いている」を英語で表現する場合、「He is working 5-day work week」とすればよいですね :-)。

I was attending Christian university, and I often talked with student who was belonging to a football team.

He mentioned that "Before an important match, the coach speaks about the contents in the Bible, and it's just something that touches the heart and can relieve tension."

Last year (2019), a video of a meeting before the last game, where this university became a champion in Japan and the following contents were published.

"We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. (End of Bible quote: 2 Corinthians 4:18)

Until this team came to the championship match in Japan, we are supported by various people.

Thanks to these 'unseen' supports, we could come to this 'seen' championship match." (End of coach comment)

The material to be introduced today "Visual Illustrated Bible & Masterpieces (Japanese only)" explains "The best bestseller in the history of mankind 'The Bible' and the following phrases were impressive in the part "7 Days of Creation List".
