【PDCA日記 Vol. 1,155「確認する勇気をもつ」】
PDCAカフェに来る人の傾向として、「仕事が楽しい！」という方と「自分にはもっと合った仕事があるはず！」という方に大別されます。
「仕事が楽しい！」人の場合、基本的に人間関係が良好であり、「自分にはもっと合った仕事があるはず！」という方は、人間関係にチャレンジを抱えている傾向があるように感じています。
会社員の場合、「自分にあった仕事がどうか」よりも「どのような人達と一緒に仕事をするか」の方が重要なケースが多く（というかこれが全て）、別の組織に移って「自分に合った仕事に就いた」と思っても、人間関係がチャレンジングになるとまた転職活動を始めがちです。
今回紹介する資料「「忖度」の構造」は、論理ではなく感情でものごとが動く社会を生きる術を紹介しており、以下のフレーズが印象的でした。
「見当違いの忖度を避けるために大切なのは、確認する勇気をもつことである。
当たり前のことなのだが、これが意外に難しい。
あらためて確認することで、『そんなことも分からないのか』と思われるのを恐れているのだ。
だから確認しづらい。」（引用終わり）

P.S. 確認することの重要性は、レストランで注文をする際に感じることができます。
教育が行き届いている飲食店では、ホール担当者が注文を受けた際、復唱して確認しますが、それを失礼だと感じる顧客はいません。
ホール担当者が注文を確認しない場合、間違った料理を出してしまうリスクは結構あったりします。
私は家族が飲食業を営んでいることもあって、レストランで注文をして店員さんが復唱しない場合、「大丈夫かな？」と思ってしまう方です😊。
ビジネスパーソンの場合であっても、「こんなことを聞いたら『優秀ではない』と思われるのではないか？」と忖度するよりも、私のように「分かりません」を連発する方が楽しく生きられる（？）かもしれませんよ😊。
それでも確認をためらう場合、以前のPDCA日記で紹介した資料「ダークサイド」に出てくるゼロックス元会長のアン・マルケイヒー氏のことを調べてみると良いでしょう😊。
マルケイヒー氏は「知らない」を言い続けて、ゼロックスを再建した「マスター・オブ・『アイ・ドント・ノウ』」として知られています。
＜Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「忖度する」=「read between the lines」＞
今回のテーマである「忖度する」を英語にすると、「read between the lines」が自然なようで、人によっては「guess」と表現する人もいますが、「guess」は「推測する」という意味が近いです。
「Read between the lines」は「空気を読む」と訳されることもあり、日本語の難しさを感じる一場面でもあります。
「Reading between the lines（忖度）」よりも「confirmation（確認）」の方が重要なのは、日本でも海外でも同じようです😊。
Recently, participants who come to PDCA cafe tend to be divided into two groups.
One group is those who are saying "I am enjoying my job!" and the other group is mentioning that "I should have assigned a better job!"
In case of people who enjoy their work, they are basically maintaining good human relationships with others.
On the other hand, colleagues who are complaining the current job ought to have a challenging situation in terms of human relationship especially with his or her boss.
When you work as an employee at corporation, human relationships would be much more important than your job itself, because we cannot do a big project on our own.
The material to be introduced today “The Structure of Reading between Lines (Japanese only)” is explaining how Japanese people are reading between lines in their workplaces and the following phrases were impressive.
"The important thing to avoid misunderstanding and we should have the courage to confirm.
It might sound natural, but confirmation is more difficult than we think.
Somebody may think that 'Is it OK to confirm such an easy thing?', so it's hard to confirm with others in Japan." (Unquote)
