【PDCA日記 Vol. 1,407「主催者が有利に設定されている」】
海外で生活をしていると、「カジノに行かないのですか？」と聞かれることがあります。
私はプライベートバンクで働いていた時、顧客についてカジノに同伴したことがありました。
顧客が数億円を溶かしている姿を目にして、「これは危険だ」と感じて個人では決してカジノに行かないようにしています。
カジノに限らず、パチンコや競馬を含めたギャンブルに私は一切手を出さず、宝くじすら買ったことがありません。
私の場合、生活がギャンブルに近い（？）ということもあり、カジノなどに行かなくても、十分にエキサイティングな日々を送れている事実があるのかもしれませんね。
今回紹介する資料「最強に面白い!! 確率」は、確率について分かりやすく解説しており、「主催者が有利に設定されている」部分の以下フレーズが印象的でした。
「ルーレットに限らず、その他のギャンブルや宝くじなどでも、基本的には主催者側（胴元）が有利なように条件が設定されているものです。
ドリームジャンボ宝くじは、購入金額の52.67%が、主催者の取り分となるように設定されています。

主催者が有利に設定されているのは、ギャンブルに限りません。
私が以前いた金融業界は「胴元が儲かる」典型例でしょうし、不動産業界も「リスクは顧客が取る」構図は同じだったりします。
金額が大きな取引をする場合、「これは胴元が儲かるビジネスではないか？」と確認ことが重要ですね。
胴元が儲かるビジネスには手を出さないことが、合理的な行動であるような気が私はしています😊。

＜ Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「主催者」 = 「organizer」＞
今回出てきた「主催者」の英訳は、「organizer」になります。
「主催者が有利に設定されている」を英語で表現する場合、「The organizer is favorably set」とすればよいですね😊。
When I live abroad, I am sometimes asked, "Why don't you go to the casino?"
When I worked for a private bank, I once accompanied a customer to a casino.
When I saw customers melting hundreds of thousands of dollars, I felt that "this is dangerous" and I never went to a casino personally.
I have never dabbled in gambling, not just casinos, but also horse racing, and I have never even bought a lottery ticket.
In my case, my life is close to gambling (?), so maybe it's the fact that I'm having a sufficiently exciting life without gambling.

It's not just gambling that hosts are favored.
The financial industry, where I used to work, is a typical example of "the organizer makes a profit", and the real estate industry has the same structure in my view.
When dealing with a large amount of money, it is important to confirm whether this is a profitable business for the bookmaker.
I feel that it is a rational behavior not to get involved in a profitable business.
