【PDCA日記 Vol. 1,343「世間の目など捨てる？」】
色々な社長とお話をしていると、「経営者は孤独である」というコメントを耳にすることがあります。
会社員の場合、周りに愚痴をこぼすことができますが、経営者の場合、最終的な判断を行う責任があり、他人のせいにできないため、孤独を感じることが多いようです。
今回紹介する資料「「孤独」のすすめ」は、「世間の目なんて捨てる」をキャッチフレーズにしており、以下のフレーズが印象的でした。
「多くの人は、『孤独に生きる』と思っています。
それだと、孤独はマイナス価値になります。
そうではなくて、『孤独を生きる』と考えてください。
『孤独』をプラス価値にして、『孤独』を楽しんで生きてください。」（引用終わり）

P.S. 同調圧力の強さは、国や地域によって違いますが、日本はかなり同調圧力が強い社会であると考えられています。
日本と比較すると、フランスは同調圧力が弱い社会であり、人によっては、フランスの方が住みやすいと感じるかもしれません。
同調圧力が異なる社会でいきなり働くと、ストレスがかかる可能性があるため、住んでみたい国や地域がある場合、留学の形で学生生活をしばらく送ってみて、実態を把握するとよいでしょうね:-)。
＜ Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「同調圧力」=「conformity」＞
今回出てきた「同調圧力」の英訳は幾つか候補がありますが、「conformity」が一つの表現方法になります。
「日本は、同調圧力が強い社会であると考えられている」を英語にする場合、「Japan is considered to be a society with strong conformity」とすればよいですね :-)。

When I was talking to various presidents, I sometimes heard the comment that “Managers are solitary”.
If you are a company employee, you can grumble around, but if you are a manager, you are responsible for making the final decision and you can't blame others.
The material to be introduced today “Recommendation for Solitude (Japanese only)” has a catchphrase that “Throw away the eyes of others” and the following phrases were impressive.
“Many people think that they live solitary.
If so, solitude has a negative value.
Instead, think that you are living loneliness by yourself.
Make loneliness a plus value and enjoy solitude." (Unquote)
