【PDCA日記 Vol. 1,342「興味がないとぶつかる？」】
私は最初の職場で「アクティブ・リスニング」というトレーニングを受けたのですが、そこで言われたことは「耳以外で聞く」ということでした。
一番重要なことは、相手の方を向いて話すことであり、意外とオフィスではこれができない人がいます。
パソコンのモニターを向いて話をしたり、対話相手とは別の方向に体を向けていると、「この人は自分の話を聞いていない」と無意識に感じるものです。
今回紹介する資料「会話のしくじり」は、「失敗から学ぶ「反面教師の会話学」」を解説しており、「話がぶつかる人はしくじっている」部分の以下フレーズが印象的でした。
「なぜ話がぶつかってしまうのでしょう？
一番大きな理由は、相手の話にあまり興味を持っていないということです。
まずは相手が何を話そうとしているのか、最後まで聞くこと。
そのためには、途中で口を挟みたくなっても我慢してみましょう。」（引用終わり）

P.S. 過去のPDCA日記でも紹介しましたが、相手の「あいづち」を最後まで聞くことで、「この人はきちんと話を聞いてくれている」という印象を与えることになります。
自分の話は短くしておいて、相手があいづちをきちんと終えてから、また短く話す、ということを繰り返すことによって、「聞き上手」への道を進めるかも（？）しれませんね :-)。
＜ Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「反面教師」=「teacher by negative example」＞
今回出てきた「反面教師」の英訳は幾つか候補がありますが、「teacher by negative example」が一つの表現方法になります。
「彼は反面教師と反対のことをしたことによって、最終的に成功した」を英語にする場合、「He finally succeeded by doing the opposite of the teacher by negative example」とすればよいですね :-)。

If you are talking to others by looking at a computer monitor or turning your body away from the person you are talking to, your talking person will feel unconsciously that you are not listening to that person.

The biggest reason is that you are not really interested in the other person's story.
First of all, listen to what the other's talking about.
