【PDCA日記 Vol. 1,571「芝生はデリケート」】
私は大学の学部生時代、植木屋でアルバイトをしていたのですが、毎日キャンパスの芝刈りをしていました。
芝生が伸びてしまうと、上の方に栄養が行くために全体の緑が薄くなることがあるため、一定の短さを常に維持しなければならないのでした。
この話を初めて聞いた時、「芝生はなんてデリケートなのだろう」と感じたものです。
今回紹介する資料「ゆるキャン」は、「読めばキャンプに行きたくなる」をキャッチフレーズにしており、以下フレーズが印象的でした。
「芝生サイトのキャンプ場では直に焚き火すると芝が焼けてしまうので、焚き火をする時は基本的に焚き火台を使用します。」（引用終わり）
P.S. 「草木は足音で育つ」という言葉あるくらい、植木や草花は毎日の手入れが重要になってきます。
人間関係において綿密なコミュニケーションが大切ですが、草木を育てる場合でも、同じということなのですね :-)。
＜ Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「芝生」 = 「lawn」＞
今回出てきた「芝生」の英訳は、「lawn」になります。
「芝生はデリケート」を英語で表現する場合、「Lawn is delicate」とすればよいですね :-)。
When I was a college student, I worked part-time at a gardener, and mowing the campus every day.
If the lawn grows, the whole greens would become thinner due to the nutrition going up, so a certain length must always be maintained.
When I first heard this story, I felt, "How delicate is the lawn?"
The material to be introduced today "Go camping with a relaxed mood (Japanese only)" has a catchphrase of "You want to go to camp if you read it" and the following phrases were impressive.
"At the campsite on the lawn, the turf will burn if you fire it directly, so you should basically use a campfire." (Unquote)
