【PDCA日記 Vol. 310「国会に呼ばれたら読む本」】
多くの人にとって国会は縁遠い存在かもしれませんが、チャレンジに直面した企業に属していると社長が国会に呼ばれたりします（経験談！）
裁判所での証言と同じように、国会の証人喚問で事実と違うことを述べると偽証罪に問われる可能性があるため、周到な準備をしなければなりません（経験談！！）。
今回紹介する資料「証人喚問」は国会における証人喚問をテーマにしており、実例を多数挙げながら解説しているところが興味深いです。
特に、「証言拒否で告発された例」と「偽証罪で告発された例」部分は必読で、証人喚問に呼ばれた場合は本書に目を通しておくとよいでしょう（あまりないとは思いますが :-)。
本書を読みながら、10数年前ですが私の勤務先の社長が参考人として国会に呼ばれたことを思い出しました。
前職におけるコンプライアンス上の不祥事が原因でしたが、問題が大きくなると国会に行かなければならないことを痛感した事件でしたね（遠い目👀）。

P.S. 私の前職のP社長が国会に呼ばれた時、議長から「P君」と呼ばれていました。
P社長は外国人であったため、国会で「P君」と呼ばれることに私はかなり違和感がありました（多分、彼も君付けで呼ばれたのは初めてだったと思う :-)。
議長も違和感を感じたのか、途中から「P参考人」と言い換えていました。
「君」は従来、目上の人に対して使う敬称でした。
日本の議会では、その名残が残っているというわけですね :-)。
慶應義塾では教員のことを「君」で呼ぶ習慣が残っていますが、これは「先生」が福沢諭吉だけであるという考えに由来しています。

今回出てきた「国会」の英訳は、「Diet」になります。
「国会に呼ばれたら読む本」を英語にする場合、「Books to read when called by the Diet」とすればよいですね :-)。

For many people, the Diet may be far away, but the executives can be called by the Diet in case something serious happens at your workplace.
As with the testimony in the court, if you are called by the Diet and mention something different from the fact, you may be charged with perjury, so you must make careful preparations.
The material introduced today "Summoning Witness (Japanese only)" explains the call for witnesses in the Diet, and this book is interesting with many examples.
In particular, the parts "Examples accused of rejecting testimony" and "Examples accused of perjury" must be read, and it is a good idea to go through this document when calling for witnesses to the Diet.
As I read this book, I remembered that the President of my former employer was called to the Diet as a reference person over ten years ago.
It was due to the scandal of my previous workplace at that time, but when the problem became serious, I felt strongly that I can be called by the Diet.
