【PDCA日記 Vol. 336「20年前のユーロへの提言」】
今回紹介する資料「グローバリズム以後 アメリカ帝国の失墜と日本の運命」の著者であるエマニュエル・トッドは世界的なフランスの人口学者ですが、20年以上前にユーロへの提言を行っています。
少々長いですが、以下は1998年5月2日の筆者コメントです。
「今回のユーロのやり方は最悪だ。
欧州中央銀行は、経済情勢に応じた柔軟な通貨政策よりユーロの安定とインフレ回避を重視した厳格な管理を目指している。
しかし、欧州では今後、若年層が減少するのだから消費が伸び悩む。
つまりデフレ対策こそ必要なのに、インフレ・リスクしか考えていない。」（引用終わり）
本書によると、エマニュエル・トッドはギリシャ危機に伴うユーロの動揺などを20年以上前にある程度予想していたことになります。
コロナ騒動によって、ユーロ諸国は国境を一時的に閉鎖するなど揺れる日々が続いています。
今回紹介する資料「グローバリズム以後 アメリカ帝国の失墜と日本の運命」は日米欧だけではなく、中国や中東に関しても様々な分析を行っており、教養を深めてくれる一冊になっています :-)。

P.S. 私が学生に戻っていた2010年の話ですが、ある経済学の教授が「アジア版ユーロが登場する」と述べていました。
「日本、中国、韓国などのアジア諸国でユーロのような共通通貨が現れ、国境を越えた経済活動が活発化する」ということが、この教授の意見でした。
ただ、私は当時「実現しないと思います」と授業で発言しました。
共通通貨が登場すると、中にある国や地域が「金融政策は同じで財政政策はバラバラ」という矛盾を抱えることになり、政治的に難しいと考えていたためです。
現時点では、私の意見の方が正しかったようですね（将来どうなるかは不明ですが :-)。
＜Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「提言」=「suggestion」＞
今回出てきた「提言」の英訳は、「suggestion」になります。
「20年前のユーロへの提言」を英語にする場合、「Suggestions to the Euro 20 years ago」とすればよいですね :-)。

Emmanuel Todd, the author of the material introduced today "The fall of the American Empire & the fate of Japan after globalism (Japanese only)" is a world-renowned French demographer.
Emmanuel Todd has made suggestions to Euro more than 20 years ago.
It's a bit long, but the following is the author's comment on May 2, 1998.
"The way of Euro implementation is the worst.
The European Central Bank is aiming for strict control that emphasizes the stability of the Euro and avoiding inflation rather than a flexible monetary policy depending on the economic situation.
However, consumption will be sluggish in Europe as the number of young people will decline.
In other words, although deflation measures are necessary, they are only thinking about the inflation risk." (Unquote)
According to this book, Emmanuel Todd had predicted some turmoil of the euro due to the Greek crisis more than 20 years ago.
The Euro countries have been shaken by the corona turmoil, including the temporary closure of national borders.
