【PDCA日記 Vol. 1,293「人間に似すぎると不気味」】
最近は人間にそっくりなロボットが登場しており、お店などで話しかけている人もくらいで科学技術の進歩には目を見張るものがあります。
今回紹介する資料「AIビジネス最前線」は「60分でわかる! IT知識」をキャッチフレーズにしており、「人間に似すぎると不気味に感じる」部分の以下フレーズが印象的でした。
「人間の姿そっくりな蝋人形を見て、何となく『怖い』とか『不気味だ』などと感じたことはないでしょうか。
こうした人間にそっくりなものを見た際に生じる負の感情は、『不気味の谷現象』として説明されることがあります。
『不気味の谷現象』は、1970年代に日本のロボット工学者である森政弘名誉教授が提唱した考え方です。
人間のロボットに対する好感度は、ロボットが人間に似るにつれ、高くなっていくが、ある一定のラインを超えてしまうと、逆に好感度が下がってしまう（その後、完全に見分けがつかなくなるとまた高まる）という考え方です。」（引用終わり）

P.S. 人工知能（AI）に対する期待は高まる一方ですが、社会のあらゆるところにAIが浸透するには時間がかかりそうです。
コンビニのレジひとつ取っても、セルフレジを導入している店舗の方がまだ少ない状況です。
人間でなければ対応できない業務は今後も存続が予想されるため、「AIが人間の仕事を奪う社会」はもう少し後になるのかもしれませんね :-)。
＜ Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「不気味な」 = 「creepy」＞
今回出てきた「不気味な」の英訳は、「creepy」になります。
「人間に似すぎると不気味に感じる」を英語で表現する場合、「It feels creepy if it looks too human」とすればよいですね :-)。
