【PDCA日記 Vol. 1,428「謝罪会見の場所」】
私は銀行員時代、職場で様々な問題があり謝罪会見を開いたことがありました。
金融機関の場合、大きな問題が発生した時は日本銀行本店内にある記者クラブ室で記者会見を行うことが多いです。
これは、色々な意味で合理的なやり方であると感じています。
金融機関の本店で記者会見を行うと、記者が帰らなかったりして、対応がエンドレスになりかねません。
今回紹介する資料「リーダーの掟 プーチン絶賛の仕事術」でも、記者会見の場所に関する記述があります。
旧道路公団の副総裁が談合事件で逮捕された際、謝罪会見は公団本部ではなく、監督官庁の国土交通省で行われました。
本書の「記者を建物からどう引き揚げさせるかが大事」部分は、謝罪会見の際の重要なポイントになります。
皆様が謝罪会見を行う機会はあまりないと思いますが、その場合は、自社以外の場所で行うことをおすすめしますね。
ホテルなどで謝罪会見を行うのも効果的だと思いますが、今回紹介する資料「リーダーの掟 プーチン絶賛の仕事術」を読んでおくことが一番のリスク回避策になりますね :-)。

P.S. 私は最初の職場が外資系企業でしたので、殆どの場合で社長が外国人でした。
大きな会見がある場合、プロの通訳の人を雇うのですが、これはこれでチャレンジングでした。
外資系企業の日本法人では、エクスパットと呼ばれる外国人の幹部が本国や主要国からやってくるケースが多いです。
ただ、日本に根を張っている外資系企業の場合、日本人を社長にすることもあります。
一長一短ですが、私は日本人が社長をやってくれている時の方がやりやすかったですね。
＜ Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「謝罪会見」=「apology press conference」＞
今回出てきた「謝罪会見」の英訳は、「apology press conference」になります。
「謝罪会見の場所」を英語にする場合、「Place of apology press conference」とすればよいですね :-)。
There is a description about the location of the press conference in the material introduced today "Leader's Rules".
When the deputy governor of the former Highway Public Corporation of Japan was arrested in a bid-rigging case, the apology press conference was held not at the corporation headquarters but at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of the regulatory agency.
In the part "How to get the reporter out of the building", this book explains that it is an important point at the apology press conference.
I don't think you have many opportunities to hold an apology press conference, but in that case, you had better hold it outside your company.
