過去のPDCA日記でも紹介しましたが、フランスの人口約6,700万人の内、およそ9%の約600万人がイスラム教徒であると言われています。
フランスではイスラム過激派によるテロが相次いでおり、日本でもニュースで時々取り上げられています。
フランスは新聞や雑誌で、政治を風刺することが昔から行われています。
イスラム教徒がフランス国内に増加したことにより、メディアがイスラム教の預言者であるムハンマドの風刺画を作成した場合、批判が浴びせられることが多くありました。
フランスのキリスト教徒からすれば、「ムハンマドの風刺画を描くことは言論の自由である」という感覚のようです。
一方、イスラム教徒にとっては、ムハンマドは話題にすることすらタブーの神聖な存在であり、「風刺画にすることなどもってのほか」という崇めるべき預言者なのです。
フランスは、政教分離を徹底する世俗主義「ライシテ」を採用していることもあって、女性イスラム教徒の民族衣装とも言えるブルカを公共の場で身に付けられないなど、宗教的な軋轢が高まっている社会になりつつあります。
今回紹介する資料「日本人の武器としての世界史講座」は「日本人だけが知らない『現代世界を動かす原理』」を解説しており、「最後の預言者ムハンマド」部分の以下フレーズが印象的でした。
「ムハンマドは大都市メッカの商人の出身です。
お父さんを早く亡くして、おじさんに教育を受け、子供の頃からキャラバン（隊商）交易に従事していました。
40歳頃に突然商売をやめて、砂漠の岩山、ヒラー山という山に籠ります。
やがてメッカに下りてきて説教を始めます。
私も経験がありますが、砂漠で夜空を見上げると、ちょっと恐怖を感じますよね。
すごい星で。
自然に対する底知れない恐怖心みたいなものは、やっぱり砂漠に行かないとわからない。
おそらく、あらゆる宗教の起源は、自然に対する『おそれ』だと思います。
日本とかインドのような穏やかな森林地帯と、見渡す限りの砂漠地帯とでは、違う宗教が生まれるのも当然でしょう。
ユダヤ教、キリスト教、イスラム教が砂漠に生まれたというのは、大事なことでしょうね。
さて、山から下りてきたムハンマドが言ったのはこういうことです。
われわれ人間は愚かだからアッラー（神）のお言葉をじかに聞くことはできない。
ときどき優れた超能力者が現れて、そのアッラーのお言葉を聞いて、人々に伝える。
これを預言者と言うと。
だから『預』言者、神の言葉を預かる人というわけですね。
神々の偶像が破壊されたあとの神殿は、当然空っぽです。
ムハンマドはその空っぽの空間に向かって祈れと言いました。
『旧約聖書』のモーセの十戒の中には、『偶像を祀ってはならない』という規定がありました。
神の姿を絵や彫刻にして祀ってはいけないということです。
ムハンマドはそれを忠実に守ったわけです。
インドの仏教にも最初は偶像がなかったのですが、アレクサンドロス大王の遠征に従ってきた北インドに移住したギリシア系の人たちが、ギリシア風の仏像を作り始めたのです。
これをガンダーラ美術と言います。
これと同じことが、キリスト教でも起こったわけです。
キリスト教徒イスラム教がもめる理由の一つは、この偶像の問題です。
イスラム教からすると、けしからん話です。
『アッラーは一人。預言者にすぎないイエスを神と呼ぶとはなんだ』ということですね。
一方、キリスト教徒がイスラム教徒に対していまでも持っているイメージが、暴力の肯定と女性蔑視です。
確かにムハンマドは信者に対して『剣をとれ、敵を倒せ』と言っています。
一方イエスは、『もしあなたが右の頬を打たれたら、左の頬を出しなさい』と言いました。
両者は対照的に見えますね。
ただ、これには理由があります。
バラバラだったアラブ諸部族を一つにまとめたのがムハンマドです。
アラブ人同士が殺しあっているときに、愛を説いてもどうにもなりません。
とりあえず剣で身を守り、家族を守り、教団を守っていくんだということです。
教団を守るための戦いがジハード（聖戦）です。
そもそもムハンマドをただの宗教指導者と考えるのが間違いなのです。
彼はアラブを統一した軍事指導者であり、アラブ帝国の建国者だったのです。
イエスは確かに愛を説いていますが、彼にはローマ帝国をまとめるという仕事はなかった。
別にローマ皇帝がいたからです。
イエスの仕事は、もっぱら魂を救うことだった。
ここがムハンマドとの違いです。
このイスラムにおける『政治と宗教の一体化』といのはポイントです。
現代までつながる問題ですので、頭の隅に置いておいてください。
次に女性蔑視の話ですが、たとえばイスラム教のどんなところが女性蔑視だと思いますか？
一夫多妻制、でしょうか。奥さんが何人いてもいいという。
確かに、ムハンマドには複数の妻がいましたし、『四人まで妻を持ってもよい』と言っています。
それから女性は顔を隠せと。
コーランには『女性は美しいところを隠せ』と書かれています。
これはどういうことかというと、当時アラブでは戦乱が続いて男がどんどん死に、子供を抱えて道端で物乞いをするような女性がいっぱいいた。
男たちは、こうした戦争未亡人たちを引き取ってやれという意味なんです。
一種の社会福祉ですね。
しかも、無制限はダメで四人までにしなさいということです。
顔を隠すのは、男たちの好奇の視線から、彼女たちを守るためだったのです。」（引用終わり）

P.S. 私の場合、大学がミッション系であったこともあって、キリスト教についてはある程度の勉強をしてきました。
同じキリスト教でも、偶像崇拝を認めるカトリックと聖書だけを信じるプロテスタントでは、考え方が大きく違います。
私の場合、プロテスタント系の大学であったため、学内では偶像を目にすることがありませんでした。
一方、カトリック系の大学に行くと、様々な偶像に遭遇するため、プロテスタントとの違いに驚いたものです。
敬虔なクリスチャンと話をする際には、「キリスト」ではなく「イエス」と表現することが原則であることなども、大学時代に学びましたね😊。
＜ Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「一体化」=「unification」＞
今回出てきた「一体化」の英訳は、「unification」になります。
「イスラムにおける政治と宗教の一体化」を英語にする場合、「Unification of politics and religion in Islam」とすればよいですね😊。
The material introduced today "World History Course as a Weapon for the Japanese People (Japanese only)" explains "The Principles that Move the Modern World that only the Japanese do not know", and the following phrases were impressive in the part "Last Prophet Muhammad".
"Muhammad was from a merchant family in the big city of Mecca.
He lost his father early, was educated by his uncle, and has been engaged in caravan trading since he was a child.
Around the age of 40, he suddenly quit his business and settled in a rocky mountain in the desert, Mt. Hiller.
Eventually I came down to Mecca and started preaching.
I have experience, but when I look up at the night sky in the desert, I feel a little scared.
With a great star.
You have to go to the desert to find out what kind of horror you have for nature.
Perhaps the origin of any religion is a 'fear' of nature.
It is no wonder that different religions are born between calm forest areas such as Japan and India and desert areas as far as the eye can see.
It's important that Judaism, Christianity, and Islam were born in the desert.
Well, this is what Muhammad, who came down from the mountain, said.
We humans were not smart and could not hear the word of Allah (God) directly.
Occasionally, a good psychic person would appear, listen to Allah's words, and tell people.
This was called a prophet.
That was why you were a deposit speaker, a person who entrusted the word of God.
The temple after the idols of the gods were destroyed was, of course, empty.
Muhammad said pray for the empty space.
The Ten Commandments of Moses in the Old Testament stipulated that 'Idols should not be enshrined'.
It means that you should not enshrine the image of God as a picture or sculpture.
Muhammad adhered to it.
Initially there were no idols in Indian Buddhism, but Greeks who emigrated to North India following Alexander the Great's expedition began to make Greek-style Buddha statues.
This is called Gandhara art.
The same thing happened in Christianity.
One of the reasons Christian Islam argues is the problem of this idol.
The other is that Christianity calls Jesus 'God'.
From Islam's point of view, it's a strange story.
'Allah is alone. What does it mean to call Jesus, who is just a prophet, God?'
On the other hand, the image that Christians still have toward Islam is the affirmation of violence and the disdain for women.
Indeed, Muhammad tells his followers, 'Take your sword and defeat your enemies'.
Meanwhile, Jesus said, 'If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also'.
The two religions look contrasting.
However, there is a reason for this.
Muhammad was a collection of the disjointed Arab tribes.
It doesn't help to preach love when Arabs are killing each other.
For the time being, protect yourself with a sword, protect your family, and protect your cult.
The battle to protect the cult is jihad (holy war).
It is a mistake to think of Muhammad as just a religious leader in the first place.
He was the unifying military leader of the Arab empire and the founder of the Arab empire.
Jesus did preach love, but he did not have the task of uniting the Roman Empire.
Because there was another Roman emperor.
Jesus' job was exclusively to save the soul.
This is the difference from Muhammad.
The point of this Islamic 'unification of politics and religion' is.
It's a problem that continues to the present day, so keep it in the corner of your head.
Next, let's talk about women's disdain. For example, what do you think is women's disdain in Islam?
Is it polygamy? It doesn't matter how many wives you have.
To be sure, Muhammad had multiple wives, and he said, 'You can have up to four wives'.
Then the woman should hide her face.
The Quran says, 'Women need to hide beautiful parts'.
What this means is that at that time there were many women in Arab who were begging on the roadside with their children, as the war continued and men died more and more.
Men mean take over these war widow.
It's a kind of social welfare.
What's more, unlimited is no good and you should limit it to four people.
The purpose of hiding their faces was to protect them from the curiosity of the men." (Unquote)
