【PDCA日記 Vol. 1,127「洗礼の記述」】
私は大学がミッション系であったため、授業でも聖書について学ぶ機会がありました。
私の大学時代のクラスメイトにもクリスチャンが多かったのですが、彼ら、彼女らは基本的にキリスト教の洗礼を受けていました。
しかしながら、聖書にはイエス・キリスト自身が洗礼を行ったという記述はなく、そのことが今回紹介する資料「新約聖書の学び」で以下のように解説されています。
「洗礼を授けていたのは、イエス御自身ではなく、弟子たちである。」（引用終わり）
また、聖書の中でイエス自身は「洗礼を行っていない」と付記されています。
何とも不思議な記述ですが、聖書には謎が多く非合理的であるが故に人を引き付け、人類史上最高のベストセラー書になったのかもしれませんね。

皆様の家の近くにも教会があると思いますが、掲示板に色々な聖書の言葉が紹介されていたりします。
場所にもよると思いますが、私の散歩ルートにある教会には聖書の言葉が日英併記で示されており、英語の勉強になっています。
聖書を読むことは英語の勉強にもなりますので、今回紹介する資料「新約聖書の学び」に目を通しておくことは良いことだと思いますね😊。
また、教会では日曜日に礼拝が行われています。
基本的に誰でも入れますので、キリスト教の礼拝に興味がある方は、一度足を運んでみるとよいでしょう。

P.S. 世界中のどの国に行っても、宗教は存在しています。
ただ、宗教が人類を幸せにしてきたかどうかについては様々な見解があり、宗教を背景した戦争や紛争はあちこちで起こっており、今後も止まる気配はなさそうです。
日本の場合、クリスマスはキリスト教、冠婚葬祭は仏教、年末年始の行事は神道と言う感じで、宗教に対して非常に寛容な姿勢が取られています。
日本人の宗教に対する姿勢は、一神教であるキリスト教やイスラム教、ユダヤ教を崇拝する人達からすると、理解不能に見えるようです。
ただ、私は日本のやり方が悪いとは思っておらず、宗教への寛容な姿勢が社会秩序を守っており、色々な考えを受け入れる素地にもなっていると考えています。
＜Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「洗礼」=「baptism」＞
今回出てきた「洗礼」の英訳は、「baptism」になります。
「洗礼の記述」を英語にする場合、「Baptism description」とすればよいですね :-)。
本日は、映画「ドンテンタウン」を紹介します。
映画「ドンテンタウン」の主人公は、シンガーソングライターのソラ（佐藤玲）です。
ソラはうまくいかない曲作りから逃れるかのように、団地へと引っ越します。
ある夜、ソラの新居の押し入れから、前の住人が残した大量のカセットテープが見つかります。
テープに吹き込まれていたのは、贋作画家として日銭を稼ぐ青年トキオの「心の声」でした。
見ず知らずのトキオの思いに触れるにつれ、ソラの日常は「記憶」と「現実」が交錯していきます。
ここから、交わるはずのなかったソラとトキオのひと夏の物語が始まるわけですが、残りは映画「ドンテンタウン」をご覧ください。

I had a chance to learn about the Bible in class because my university was a Catholic school.
Many classmates were Christians, but they were basically baptized in Christianity.
However, there is no description in the Bible that Jesus Christ himself baptized, which is explained as follows in the material introduced today "New Testament Study (Japanese only)".
"It was not Jesus himself who was baptized, but his disciples." (Unquote)
Also, it is added in the Bible that Jesus himself was "not baptized."
It is a mysterious statement, but because the Bible has many mysteries and there are irrational descriptions, it may have attracted people around the world and become the best-selling book in human history.

P.S. Religion exists in every country in the world.
However, there are various opinions about whether religion has made humankind happy.
Wars and conflicts against the background of religion are occurring here and there, and it seems that there is no sign that they will stop in the future.
In Japan, Christmas is being celebrated in a way of Christianity, ceremonial occasions are being held in a way of Buddhism, and year-end and New Year events are being implemented in a way of Shinto.
In other words, Japanese people are very tolerant of religion.
The Japanese attitude toward religion seems incomprehensible to those who worship the monotheistic Christianity, Islam, and Judaism.
However, I do not think that the Japanese way is bad.
I suppose that the tolerant attitude toward religion protects the social order and is the basis for accepting various ideas.
