過去のPDCA日記でも紹介しましたが、私は色々な人に対して「違う業界に飛び込むこと」を勧めています。
私の場合であれば金融業界に16年間いて、その後は主にIT企業との取引を行ってきました。
業界を変えた際に気を付けることとしては、「分からないことは分からない」と素直に言うことです。
IT業界には色々な略語があり、初めて聞いた時に私は「？」と思った用語がいくつもあります。
「OSS」もその一つでして、これは「オープンソースソフトウェア（Open Source Software）」の略です。
今回紹介する資料「プログラマーになりたい！」は「経験ゼロでも独学でプロになれる」をキャッチフレーズにしており、以下フレーズが印象的でした。
「OSSは、一定のルールに従うことにより、ソフトウェアのソースコードを誰でも自由に利用できるのが特徴です。
一社が製品としてソフトウェアを販売するのとは大きく異なります。
OSSの利用者は、共同開発車となることも簡単にできます。
OSSの開発では基本的に報酬がありません。
基本的に多くのエンジニアが本業のアプリケーション開発を持った上で、ボランティアとしてOSSの開発に携わっています。
とはいえ、大きなプロジェクトの一部のコアコミッター（中心的な開発者のこと）になると、ソフトウェア企業に所属しながら、仕事はそのOSSの開発であるというケースがあります。
OSSの開発自体は売り上げや利益を上げるわけではありませんが、企業にとっては著名な開発者が在籍していることによってエンジニア採用がしやすくなることや、開発者とダイレクトに機能開発について議論できることなどが、メリットとしてあります。」（引用終わり）

P.S. The development of OSS has been carried out by volunteers, and I learned from the material introduced today "I want to be a programmer!"
I also go to PDCA mornings and lunches with various people, but I do not continue with the intention of connecting to business.
However, I feel that altruistic behavior is important because it can lead to business in unexpected places.
I think this applies not only to business but also to private life.
