【PDCA日記 Vol. 1,524「賢い人は逃げる」】
PDCAカフェでは色々な悩みを耳にしますが、「すぐに解決する方法がない」とコメントされる方が多いです。
ビジネスのチャレンジと同じで、プライベートの悩みについても、その背景にある根本原因をきちんと確認し、解決策を打ち出さなければ、問題はずるずると続くことになります。
今回紹介する資料「スタンフォードの教授が教える 職場のアホと戦わない技術」は、「やられたらやり返す・10倍返しはもう古い」をキャッチフレーズにしており、「賢い人は逃げる」部分の以下のフレーズが印象的でした。
「アホを前にしたとき、人はまず断固逃げるべきだ。
だが、ひどい上司や同僚がいても、逃げようとしない人はたくさんいる。
そういう人は何かと理由をつけて残っていることが多い。
『仕事を辞めるほど状況はひどくない』と考えたり、本当はかなり苦しんでいるのに『この仕事は重要でそれなりに満足感もある』と思いこみ、なんとか耐えているのだ。」（引用終わり）

P.S. 本書が言う「何かと理由をつけて残っている人は多い」ことは、PDCAカフェで話を聞いていても感じることがあります。
周りから見ていると、異常な状況であるにもかかわらず、「自分の頑張りが足りない」と自己批判をして、そこから抜けられなくなっているケースです。
日本には「逃げるが勝ち」という名言があるため、「何か変だぞ」と感じたら、逃げることを選択肢の一つとして考えてみるのがよいでしょう :-)。
＜ Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「賢い」=「smart」＞
今回出てきた「賢い」の英訳は、「smart」になります。
「賢いひとは逃げる」を英語にする場合、「Smart people run away」とすればよいですね :-)。

"When you're in front of an idiot, people must first resolutely escape.
But many have a terrible boss or co-worker who won't run away.
Such people often remain for some reason.
They tend to think that "The situation is not so bad as to quit my job" or "This job is important and there is some satisfaction." (Unquote)
