【PDCA日記 Vol. 1,552「大事なのは本質的な問い」】
最近は、上司や部下との1on1を重視する企業が増えており、とても良いことであると考えています。
ただ、管理職の中には「1on1で何を話したらよいか分からない」とコメントされる方がいます。
そのような場合、部下に8割話してもらい、2割は質問に割くということで、会話が途切れることなく1on1が進められます。
今回紹介する資料「5W1H思考」は、「たったこれだけで毎日の仕事が見違える」をキャッチフレーズにしており、以下フレーズが印象的でした。
「新しい価値は生み出せません。何よりも大事なのは、この新しい価値を生み出す源泉、つまり人とは違った答えを引き出す『本質的な問い』の方なのです。」（引用終わり）

P.S. 日本でなぜか大人気のドラッカーは、「経営者の条件」の中で、「聞け、話すな」と繰り返し述べています。
管理職は1on1で、部下の本音を引き出すために聞き、コンサルタントは「本質的な問い」を社長に投げかけることで、経営課題を解決できるのかもしれませんね。
＜ Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「本質的な」 = 「essential」＞
今回出てきた「本質的な」の英訳は、「essential」となります。
「大事なのは本質的な問いである」を英語で表現する場合、「What matters is the essential question」とすればよいですね :-)。
When I went around several companies as a consultant, most of the organization can be divided into companies that do not allow overtime work and those that continue to work endlessly.
At one company, there was a senior manager who declared that “Don't work overtime, as we will evaluate every one of you based on the results, not the hours worked”.
Needless to say, all employees have been leaving the company on time :-).
On the other hand, in the case of an organization where managers do not leave the office forever, bad effects come out in various ways, but the challenge is that no one can point out the problem in such a company.
The material to be introduced today “Good Effort (Japanese only)” is a guidebook for “Necessary and unnecessary efforts” by the author who was a strategic consultant and the following phrase in the “Cut the time even if work is not over” part were impressive.
“The quickest way is to cut time.
By deciding the end time first, your tasks have to be moved according to it.
