【PDCA日記 Vol. 1,559「規制のゆるさが産業を育てる」】

日本に来る外国人観光客が増加していますが、彼ら彼女らが来日する背景の一つとして、「安くて美味しいレストランが多い」ことがあります。

アメリカなどではチップが必要となり、フランスなどのヨーロッパ諸国では外食が高価なこともあって、日本に来る外国人は食事の美味しさに感心するようです。

今回紹介する資料「なんでお店が儲からないのかを僕が解決する」は、「流行る店とチャンスをつぶす店の違い」を解説しており、「規制のゆるさが日本のレストランを育てた」部分の以下フレーズが印象的でした。

「衛生面では日本が厳しいと思いきや、そんなことはない。

 たまたま生レバーやユッケに関しては規制が設けられているけれど、基本的には食品衛生席に者の講義をひとりが受ければいいという形になっている。

シンガポールだったら、ウェイターになるのでも同等のテストをパスしなければならないそうだ。」（引用終わり）

P.S. 日本で自動車産業が発展した背景の一つに、「政府が余計なことをあまりしなかった」ことがあげられています。

海外で仕事をしたいと思っている人は、現地の規制がゆるい部分を探し出し、そこに経営資源を投入することで、上手くいくのかもしれませんね :-)。

今回出てきた「ゆるい」の英訳は、「loose」となります。

「規制のゆるさが産業を育てる」を英語で表現する場合、「Loose regulations foster industry」とすればよいですね :-)。

The number of foreign tourists coming to Japan is increasing, and one of the reasons they come to Japan is that there are "reasonable and delicious restaurants".

Foreigners coming to Japan seem to be impressed with the deliciousness of meals, as tipping is required in the United States and European countries such as France, where eating out is expensive.

The material to be introduced today "I will let you know why your restaurant is not profitable (Japanese only)" explains "the difference between fashionable stores and stores that lose opportunities" and the following phrases were impressive.

"I don't think Japan is tough in terms of hygiene.

Although there are regulations on raw meat, it is basically the case that only one person can take a lecture about a food sanitation.

In Singapore, they have to pass the same test to become a waiter." (Unquote)
