【PDCA日記 Vol. 1,606「自己管理は難しい」】
私が自営を始めた時、「意識すべきこと」として考えていたのは、自己管理でした。
当たり前ですが、自営業者は上司がいないため、どれだけ働き、どれだけ休むかを自分で決めることができます。
「怠けないように注意しなければならない」と当初は考えていましたが、実際には数か月休みなく働くこともあって、「意識して休みを取る」ことの方が重要であると気づくようになりました。
今回紹介する資料「水光舎四季」は、「特別能力期待生として受け入れ伸ばしてくれる場所」である「寄宿舎水光舎」を取り上げた小説であり、「自己管理の難しさ」に関して説明している以下フレーズが印象的でした。
「自己管理ってけっこう難しいよ。
怠けるのも自由だけど、そのつけは必ず回ってくるからね。」（引用終わり）

P.S. 今回紹介した資料「水光舎四季」は学校が舞台であるため、学生という立場上、どれだけ怠けても「収入がゼロになる」という恐怖と戦う必要はありません。
自営業者の場合、「働かなければ収入が途絶える」という状況になるため、会社員時代と比較して、体調維持などを含めて、私は自己管理を徹底するようになりました。
自営に興味があるという人は、あれこれ考えずに一度やってみることがポイントであると私は考えています :-)。
＜ Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「自己管理」 = 「local」＞
今回出てきた「自己管理」の英訳は、「local」になります。
「自己管理は難しい」を英語で表現する場合、「Difficult to manage yourself」とすればよいですね :-)。
When I started self-employed, what I considered to be "conscious" was self-management.
Needless to say, self-employed people have no boss, so they can decide for themselves how much work and how much rest they want.
At first I thought, "I have to be careful not to be lazy," but in fact, I sometimes work several months without a break, so it is more important to "take time off with awareness".
The material introduced today “Four Seasons (Japanese only)” is a novel that features “Boarding House”, a place that accepts and expands as a special ability expectant student, and explains the difficulties of self-management and the following phrases were impressive.
"It's pretty difficult to manage yourself.
It's free to be lazy.
But, in case you are not doing anything, you will pay for it in the future." (Unquote)
