【PDCA日記 Vol. 1,271「温度で性別が決まる」】
海外の南の島に旅行する人が増えていますが、外国人から言わせると沖縄・宮古島のビーチは「世界一美しい」らしいです。
また、沖縄に行けば季節によってウミガメに遭遇することもあるため、マリンスポーツを楽しむやビーチでのんびりする目的であれば、わざわざ海外に行かなくてもいいような気がしますね😊。
今回紹介する資料「海でギリギリ生き残ったらこうなりました。」は「進化のふしぎがいっぱい!海のいきもの図鑑」をキャッチフレーズにしており、「男か女か？運命は温度で決まります」部分の以下フレーズが印象的でした。
「私たち（ウミガメ）はねぇ、温度にとても敏感なのよ。
浜辺に上がって砂の中に卵を産むんだけれどねぇ、卵がかえるまでの砂の温度で男の子が生まれるか、女の子が生まれるかが決まるのよ。
29℃より高いと女の子、低いと男の子になるの。

そのため、ウミガメの見学をする際には地域によって色々なルールがあり、事前に説明のセッションがあります。
