【PDCA日記 Vol. 1,476「できる人ほどアポが取りやすい」】
過去のPDCA日記でもお伝えしていますが、私は最初の職場で「暇にしておけ」と繰り返し言われました。
「暇にしておく」とは、「頼まれた仕事をすぐに終わらせて、次の仕事を待っている状態にしておく」ことであり、未だにこの習慣を私は続けています :-)。
今回紹介する資料「超一流の手帳はなぜ空白が多いのか?」は、「仕事と人生を劇的に好転する手帳の習慣」を解説しており、「手帳はスケジュールを『埋めないため』に使いなさい！」部分の以下フレーズが印象的でした。
「超一流の手帳の使い方を見ていると、スケジュールやタスクを埋めることで満足していた私とは違い、超一流はスケジュールを埋めないために使っていることがわかってきました。
なぜ、彼らがスケジュールを埋めないために手帳を使っているかというと、手帳が未来への投資となる時間を生み出すためのツールだからです。
超一流ほど、じつは未来への投資の時間配分が多いと言えます。
周囲のペースで時間を使ってしまうと、自分がもっとも価値を発揮するために確保すべき時間が取れなくなってしまいます。」（引用終わり）

P.S. 私は、結構な数の企業でコンサルタントとして働いてきましたが、「忙しい」「時間がない」と言っている人は、それほど忙しそうに見えませんでした :-)。
私がこれまでに、「この人はできるなぁ～」と感じたビジネスパーソンの多くは、本書が唱えている通り、アポが取りやすかったことを覚えています。

＜ Mr. PDCAのボンジュール英語「価値を発揮する」=「demonstrate value」＞
今回出てきた「価値を発揮する」の英訳は、「demonstrate value」になります。
「銀行員時代の経験は、意外にも別の業界で価値を発揮した」を英語にする場合、「Surprisingly, my experiences as a banker demonstrated value in another industry」とすればよいですね :-)。
As I introduced in the past PDCA diary, I was repeatedly told to be free in my first workplace.
“Being free” means “to finish the requested task immediately and wait for the next job” and I still continue this custom :-).
The material to be introduced today “Why are the top-notch people's schedules blank? (Japanese only)” explains “The scheduling habits that dramatically improve work and life” and the following phrases were impressive.
“When I looked at how superlative talents use a schedule planner, I found out that they were using it not to fill the schedule.
The reason why they use schedule planners to keep up with their schedules is that they are a tool for creating time to invest in the future.
It can be said that the super-first-class people are allocating more time for investment in the future.
If you spend time at your own pace, you won't have enough time to get the most value." (Unquote)
