改善は英語で「KAIZEN」となっており、私が通っていたフランスのビジネススクールで、南米出身の留学生は、日本人である私を見ると「カイゼーン！」と挨拶（？）をするなど、改善の魂はすっかり世界に溶け込んでいるようです。
今回紹介する資料「新幹線お掃除の天使たち」は、「 「世界一の現場力」はどう生まれたか?」を解説しており、新幹線の清掃業務で有名な会社「テッセイ」を取り上げています。
テッセイは新幹線を約7分で清掃することで知られており、ビジネススクールのケースとしても取り上げられています。
本書は、テッセイがどのように改善を継続してきたか詳しく説明しており、「知恵を生む現場」部分の以下フレーズが印象的でした。
「テッセイの現場は、与えられた仕事をこなすだけの現場ではありません。
『もっとよくなるはずだ』『もっといろいろなことができるはずだ』と現場が信じ、現場の目線で知恵やアイデアを生み出す。
そして、それを自分たちが率先して実行に移す。」（引用終わり）
P.S. 私はコンサルタントとして、様々な会社の改善活動を目にしてきました。
「こうすべき」「ああするとよい」という感じで色々な意見を出す人は結構いるのですが、テッセイのように「自分たちが率先して実行に移す」ことが根付いているところは、少ないように感じています。
改善の継続はどの企業でも目指しているところだと思いますが、「自分たちが率先して実行に移す」ことを経営者が心掛けていることが、とても大切であると感じています。

The material to be introduced today “Shinkansen (Bullet Train) Cleaning Angels (Japanese only)” explains “How was the world's best on-site power born?” and features the company “TESSEI” which is famous for its Shinkansen cleaning business.
TESSEI is known for cleaning the Shinkansen in about 7 minutes and has been discussed as a business school case.
The book details how TESSEI has continued to improve, and the following phrases in the "Site of Wisdom" section were impressive.
"TESSEI is not just a working people for a given job.
TESSEI people always think that 'it should be better' and 'it should be able to do more' and creates wisdom and ideas from the viewpoint of the working site.
And they take the initiative in doing it themselves." (Unquote)
